The comic where Dib declares affection for Zim is my all time favorite, hands down. What's Ace's next move? Following Zim and Dib on their first date? What would that even look like?

You do realize the events of the Trial are far more horrifying when you take into account that Zim was transferred to Military research immediately after he tried to go to the surface.

Meaning he was still a smeet at the time he was a scientist. 

This is no more older than this:

Zim complained about being underground for ten years. 

And Irkens are apparently in their infancy for more than ten years because he was meant to stay underground for far longer.

So Little Zim basically caused two blackouts in a span of ten years, they transferred him to military research immediately after this before he could complete his basic education infancy training. 

Miyuki even referred to Zim as A “Little Creature” and I don’t think it was necessary because he was just a small irken. (that’s part of it) but when you look at all the other scientists and engineers in the SAME department:

Mostly all Vortians and other species who are most likely adults and Irkens seem to not go into Military research all that often in general. 

 like this little child in a scientist robe just chided her best engineers and went like “okay that thing sucks, but My Tallest, look at what I’M DOING!” 

This is just the equivalent of giving an advanced child dangerous chemicals and nuclear weapons at their disposal. 

And yet everyone is surprised by how this turned out. 

I forgot where I was going with this train of thought…

Long story short: Zim was still pretty much in his infancy years when he created an energy absorption blob and that’s pretty impressive. And when his people found he could be pinned for a crime he did as a juvenile, he was pretty much given the death penalty as a sentence for things that happened many decades ago.  

Hmm.  Yeah.  Child soldier Irken society sucks and is horrifying was my point I guess. But we kinda already knew that.

Headcanon:

Although he barely even understands the concept of gender, let alone the distinctions between them, and is very much on the spectrum of aromantic asexuality, in whatever capacity he can feel romantic or sexual attraction, Zim is 100% gay. Does not care for women, even a little bit, despite not even knowing what they are. He has only ever been into men and masc-presenting persons like Dib, the Tallest, a select handful of other Irken dudes, and maaaybe one particularly cute Vortian scientist.

Hey idk if you’re a fan of panic at the disco or not but i’d highly recommend pitching up brendon urie’s voice because. It sounds so much like Zim. Especially Kaleidoscope Eyes!!

So because I've taken an unintentional break from writing the past eight several months, I started re-reading my fic from the beginning and going through each chapter to edit all the typos and grammatical errors. I haven't made any structural changes, just cleaned up some of the writing and dialogue. I know some of you have the fic downloaded, so I figured I'd let you know there's a slightly better version to download now.

Chapter 22 has the most changes. When I initially wrote it, I think I got hung up on trying to rush through their first smut scene, and it didn't help that the chapter was really long. I wasn't super proud of it at the time, so I'm glad I went back through it this week and fixed the parts that bothered me. Everything still happens the same way, but I added some dialogue and improved the flow.

I'm working on finishing up Chapter 32 this weekend <3

Been thinking of Dib getting older and having a ridiculous amount of contingency plans in the way that Rick Sanchez does (Rick and Morty)

Just sci-fi shenanigans that stress Zim out. Oh no! Dib got decapitated! No he bio-engineered himself to grow a second head in case of emergency complete with duplicate brain. Oh no! Dib exploded! No he has a backup clone that has Bluetooth link to his soul.

Like yeah typically you would see this as something Zim would noncon do to Dib while he’s sleeping so he would never leave him but it would also be fun and interesting for Dib to take initiative in making himself more durable. Something about making sure he doesn’t leave Zim alone in the universe by dying suddenly.
