Call it generational trauma, or karmic debt, this is the set of programming, energetic imprints, behavioural systems, wounds, and modes of thinking that is passed on from parent, to child, from generation, to generation. From soul, to soul.
A lot of this is actually completed unconsciously, and is found in the words, the energy, the forms of punishment, and the words that are said, and not said during up bringing.
It is our duty to be so very aware in parenthood of who we are, and the ways that we have been affected.
For instance, an individual who was physically beaten as a child, as a form of punishment, is likely to believe that this form of discipline is normal, necessary, and advisable.
This is one of the largest problems within the black community in my opinion.
This child in particular may then also go on to discipline their child in these ways.
In the same way that a parent who did not receive positive reinforcement in childhood, such as, âI am proud of youâ, and 'You are beautifulâ, will unconsciously refrain from supporting their own child with such words.
We teach, as we have learned.
For mothers particularly, a lot of this trauma is passed on in the wound, particularly for mother/daughter relationships.
A mother who has abandonment consciousness, is likely to have a daughter who will have low self esteem, and fears of abandonment, even if she has not necessarily experienced any direct forms of abandonment herself.
However, this frequency that she taps into, will likely cause her to manifest, some type of abandonment.
There is also a long line of emotionally stunted men, born to emotionally unavailable fathers.
