Your Shot photographer Michael Haluwana hiked to the top of of the volcano known as Mount Ijen to grab this image. Mount Ijen is an active volcano located in Indonesia. It features a lake that is recognised as the largest highly acidic crater lake in the world.“We stayed there for two days trying to take this image as it was covered with sulfur smoke, we had to wear gas masks all the time to be protected,” said Haluwana. “It was cold and windy, but it all changed for 20 mins for us and that was all we needed to take our cameras and our flyer drone to get this aerial photo. Minutes later it was back to being covered with smoke and no visibility.” Photograph by Michael Haluwana
