I wrote a very smutty first chapter for a HP fic yesterday and it’s already gotten over 250 clicks???? What the hell, AO3? Back in the day when I was writing on fanfiktion.de I was so proud to get like 10 or 20 clicks.

I just gotta say it: I LOVE it when a fic writer answers one of my comments! Like, a year ago, I was way too shy to comment on a fic. I don’t know why but I felt so self conscious when I binge read a completed multi chapter fic that I never dared to leave a comment.

Then I worked up the courage to comment on the final chapter of some fics that I really liked and I was so DELIGHTED when I got an e-mail telling me that the author replied to my comment!

And suddenly, I started reading WIPs and that changed the WHOLE THING for me. I  suddenly wanted to comment on every chapter that came out, telling the author how much I loved it, what parts I especially liked, what lines moved me, how I noticed their little characterisations and hints. I desperatley wanted to show them that I LOVED their fic and I couldn’t wait to read more of their work. 

And it still makes me so happy that AO3 shows me the latest replies to my comments, like a little reminder of “hey, you really liked this fic, maybe read some other story by this author” and DAMN I WILL, IMMEDIATLEY!

Thank you to everybody who replies to comments, it feels so amazing to be recognized by your favourite fic author and to be told that they enjoyed that comment. It brings me so much joy.
