Andersen Fairy Tales & Grimm Fairy Tales
Typeset by @canon-in-too-deep
These are both books I made as a christmas gift for my mother last year. She is a big fan of fairytales.
Hans Christian Andersen Fairy Tales
The endpapers are recycled papers I bought from shepherds in London, and the cover papers are marbled papers by Ann Muir that I bought there as well, specifically for this project in an effort to match the title page. The bookcloth I used is dubletta nutmeg.
Grimms' Fairy Tales
Endpapers for this one are a slightly different recycled paper from shepherds, and the cover papers are also Ann Muir papers. The bookcloth for this one is dubletta mustard
A Christmas Carol
by Charles Dickens
I decided to try and teach a friend how to bookbind, and this was the project I did during that process to show him the steps. I decided to give it a christmas gift for another friend.
Dictionary of the Vulgar Tongue
typeset by @littlefoxpress
I saw the typeset of this and thought it looked really cool, so I decided to make a couple copies of it for myself and a friend.
Basic Mando'a: a Mandalorian dictionary
I've been reading a lot of star wars fics with a focus on Mandalorians that include a lot of Mando'a. So I thought I'd make myself a little dictionary to help me translate :)
I started typesetting the dictionary at the start of September and due to procrastination finished it at the end of October, and then managed to complete the actual book in 2 days lol
The cover is blue goat leather decorated with a foil quill and white holographic foil. Endpapers are by papiersprina that I bought at a bookbinding fair in the Netherlands last October. Headbands are hand-sewn with cotton embroidery thread.
This book was my first attempt at a full leather book, which was made easier by the fact that it is an octavo, and therefore tiny :)
The map inside the book was from this star wars fandom page, and then edited to be black lines. The stars on the title page are also edited from that image. The words in the dictionary are taken from here.
Pride and Prejudice
by Jane Austen
Another copy of Pride and Prejudice, this time in A6 because I wanted to make a little copy of it for myself... and then I ended up giving to one of my mothers friends XD
This was my first attempt at doing cloth jointed endpapers, which I think is one of my new favourite things. Also my first slipcase (when I made it at least, I've made a number of them since)
Cover is metaluxe buckram from ratchfords, it looks very shiny in person, very fun to use in projects. Cover decoration is done with a foil quill using my silhouette cutting machine, accidentally broke the fine tip quill tho when doing the text on the spine :'(
Pride and Prejudice
by Jane Austen
I bound this back in June as a gift for my mother, just getting round to posting it now XD
This was my first book I'd done as an B6 and I have to say it's definitely my favourite size for a full length book, it's still got weight to it like a larger book but it feels so much nicer to hold in your hand.
All the images in it are from the illustrated version on project gutenberg, and the cover decoration is from the original copies of that. It took me a while to find a useable copy of that illustration though annoyingly.
It's a 3-piece bradel, because I wanted to use that green paper for the covers but I didn't want to trust paper for the stability of the hinges. And also because I wouldn't be able to foil that cover design as a full piece using my silhouette portrait as the machine is too small.
Unreal Unearth: Unending
by Hozier
I finished this a while ago but decided I might as well share this one as well.
A collection of the lyrics from Hoziers latest album Unreal Unearth: Unending that I bound as a birthday gift for a friend.
I decided to add some images that were slightly related to each song, a selection of these are pictured here.
The endbands are handsewn and the edges are just painted with gold acrylic paint.
Fanbinding of Salvage by @muffinlance
This story has been on my binding list since I started learning how to bind books. It was probably the inspiration to learn even, after seeing all the really cool copies people had made already.
I've been working on this book on and off for the past month, and I've learned a lot of different things during the process. Mainly that it helps to look up tutorials for things before you actually start doing them.

Fanbinding of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spider by Bergen on ao3
This was my second attempt at binding a fic, although I have done a number of blank notebooks as well. I'm really pleased with how this one turned out and had a lot of fun designing it.
I made it as an a6 book so that it could be a reasonable thickness The book is an a4 quarto (a6 page size). It's 264 pages and about 2.5cm thick.
I used 75gsm sugarcane paper for the textblock as it's got a nice color and feel to it. The text font is EB Garamond, drop caps font is CF Cherokee, title and chapter font is Pine Forest, and the author name font is botanink (one of my favourite fonts, it's so pretty).
I decorated the cover using heat transfer vinyl, and used the silhouette studio space to design it. The case is covered in atlantic seaboard bookcloth which has a lovely texture to it (that did make it harder to attach the htv though unfortunately).
The endbands are hand sewn and I shose the colors to match the endpapers and the gold vinyl on the cover.
I loved this fic a lot and decided to make it a physical copy so I can have it on my bookshelf alongside all my other favourite books.
