You know, I've been thinking about it the past week but it's crazy that it feels like there should be some great book out there about pirates, it feels like a really rich and widespread genre, but when you try to find one it turns out all the famous pirate books are just Victorian children's fiction (and if you're into that I support you entirely, but for me that's a huge drawback). All the big books about the sea are about the navy, or explorers, or whalers. Maybe I'm crazy, but where are all the pirate books?
I KNOW right? Listen I have this whole obsession with pirates but I can't seem to find a single book with compelling storytelling free of mysoginy and queerphobia. I don't think that's too much to ask right?
Anyway if anyone has some recs, PLEASE message me I beg
