starter for @skyguarded
He laid on the bed and stared at the ceiling. It was pristine and white, and the lights were too bright. It was nothing like the Galra ships he had grown used to, and he almost struggled to look at it too long.
Thace sighed as he turned away. He had recovered for the most part, but the exhaustion was still heavy in every muscle. But he was alive. That was more than he expected.
The moment he took that blaster to the chest, he thought he was a dead man. He still cursed himself for getting sloppy. He should have been more careful because now that his cover was blown, he was useless.
Footsteps drew his attention to the door. He sat up, wincing at the dull ache in his chest as he tried to see who entered.
In the mirror, I called myself another, practicing— the names, the prayers, fitting words into my mouth as if they belonged (…)

"Yeah I'm gonna need like.... 10 bombs or so. Just in case. Those keep in a closet, right?"
“I trust a four year old with bombs more than I trust you.”
headcanon.
thace is no master engineer, but he did reroute the power of a whole-ass galra ship and turned a room into a bomb. he is damn good with electrical wiring, hacking, and other such things. especially on galra ships. he also knows how to turn a lot of things into bombs. it’s lowkey his specialty. if you want something hacked or rerouted on a galra ship, thace is your guy.

You could just about see the perfect 90 degree angles in Thace’s stance. It seemed like everybody stood that way in the Hub. Belost saw that plenty with Sendak when he was onboard his fleet but he’d always assumed it was a hardass thing rather than a rank thing. But from the look on Thace’s face… maybe he wasn’t wrong.
He stepped in fully and looked over at Thace. “Not sure how much the commander told you about the mission. He wanted me to deal with this rebellion that sprang up on Fo’Gosh IV. Want the short version or the long version?”
Thace turned and headed to the desk set up on the far side of the room. He pressed a couple buttons, the purple interface lighting up at his touch. Several screens appeared, including one that would monitor voice levels.
Thace had already planted a bug that would encrypt the files and send them straight to the Blade of Marmora.
“Give me the long version. Best to be thorough. Was the mission a success?”
thace has a nice ass
I’m watching That Episode again and just...WHY DID THACE STAY BEHIND? THERE WAS LITERALLY NO REASON FOR HIM TO STAY BEHIND?? DREAMWORKS WTF???
"What are you doing here? Commander Prorok wasn't expected back for another movement. Well? Speak!" || Lieutenant Haxus
Thace narrowed his eyes as he stepped up to Haxus. The urge to slide his luxite blade through the chinks of his armor and kill him then and there was overpowering, but he resisted as he always did.
“Don’t speak to me like you’re my superior, lieutenant,” he spat. “Or have you forgotten we’re now the same rank?”

The question made more sense to Argyle as he blocked the hit much more quickly than before. The burst of anger and determination running hot in his veins had him more alert and braver.
Brave enough to actually try an offensive hit. He was sure Thace would block it, but he wanted to prove that he was trying, at least.
The corners of his lips raised in a smile before breaking out into a full on grin.
“Good!” he exclaimed, easily dodging the next blow.
Argyle’s form was sloppy, and he lacked power, but confidence was half the battle. He couldn’t fight until he believed he could.
“Knowing why you fight is just as important as knowing how to fight. If you forget the why, you become mindless like Zarkon’s fleets. You must remember why you are here.”
oh to wrap bandages around and put disinfectant on another man’s wounds as i catch his tender gaze and lovingly call him an idiot and tell him to be more careful

Central command. The place where all the big shots resided. But more importantly it was also where all the good snack machines were. Fresh out of the forest, nothing said ‘welcome back to civilization’ better than a soft packaged cookie from a machine. He still had the dried mud on his gaiters and boots. But high command waited for nobody.
He wished it went the other way around. Commander Prorok had kept him on notice for the last hour. Whatever he was dealing with was apparently more important than the guy he’d sent Belost after. Either that or he already knew the outcome and was dealing with something more urgent than a debriefing. Either way Belost was on his second cookie by the time he got the notice to his datapad.
Apparently the commander would be busy for the rest of the day and set up a meeting with his second in command. Thace. The tracker grumbled around the cookie stuck in his mouth and started off towards the designated office.
He arrived in his own time. He’d been made to wait so they could afford to wait for him to find his way around the giant station. Eventually he knocked on the door to the room he was assigned. When the door opened he stuck his head in, “There a Lieutenant Thace here?”
Thace was a patient man. He had to be for his job - both the one he had overtly and the real one hidden beneath. That being said, he was annoyed. He had other duties to tend to and yet Prorok had plucked him out and told him to deal with some bounty hunter. And to add insult to injury, the bounty hunter was taking his sweet time.
Thace paced the office, hands clasped behind his back. Four squares lengthwise, three broadside. He counted them again, listening to his boots thud against the metal sheets.
HIs head jerked when the doors slid open with a hiss. He scowled and turned to face the bounty hunter, spine ramrod straight and shoulders set in a hard line.
“You must be Belost. Come in.”

Argyle was quiet as he got back into position, thinking. He soon looked at Thace, back straighter and a fire burning in his eyes.
“Because I care. My father taught me that Galra are not meant to be soft. We aren’t allowed to be kind, or to feel compassion, or help others. I don’t believe in that. I can’t. I- I respect life. And Zarkon doesn’t.”
A smile curled his lips, and he nodded. Every Blade had their own reason to be here, and knowing that reason was imperative to their mission.
“Good. Never forget that. Now block me.”
He jumped forward again and punched towards Argyle’s head with lightning speed.
so many facades. you lost track of which one is you. maybe none of them are. maybe you never were.
i cannot draw thace for the life of me

He timed his steps with the sentries, easily slipping passed them and down into the dungeons. He was off duty, but he had to be quick. Prorok could call on him at any moment, and the last place he wanted to be was caught talking to the prisoner.
Thace ducked behind a corner, waiting until the guards passed by. Then he ducked down and pushed open the small slit in the door where food could be passed through. He peered in and searched for the prisoner.
“Red paladin? We don’t have much time. I need you to trust me.”
