I like Scott when he's a little bit of a smug shiteater. I think it's less fun when he's like "ugh everything is terrible all the time and especially for ME because I have to deal with it." and more like *raises an eyebrow* *shiteating grin* "ha. bet you didn't expect ME to win this round..." *immediately turns around and gets clotheslined by a stationary object*

I don't remember if I've ever said, but my opinion of Scott varies pretty drastically depending on how he's written/who is writing him, mostly because I feel like different writers have a lot of different opinions on how to use him. But I did pretty uniformly dislike him and Emma as a couple (that's a longer discussion and based not on the biggest reference point of reading, but the short of it is that I liked her character development and the two them felt forced, like she needed a man to make that happen rather than herself). I do think Emma as a character and esp as a female character deserved better, and having her be like "you know what? Actually fuck this guy" is pretty refreshing in that regard.
