A lecturer once told us to write down what we learned from a recent group assignment and to leave that note somewhere we would find it. I had a terrible experience with my group and I let things slide instead of speaking up. I forgot all about that note until I was cleaning up my old room a few years after.

I opened the notebook to see a neatly folded piece of paper, I opened it and thought it was so wise that she asked us to write down what we learned. I had written down, “never be complacent”. I try to remember that note whenever I’m going through a hard time.
