Based off of a scene from @uglifish ‘s fic “I Am Just a Poor and Starving Artist”

I’m Seto Kaiba! Fucking think! Kaiba berated himself, standing from his desk and hastily unbuckling his belt. He whipped it off from around his waist and slammed it down onto his desk, hitting the camera button and viciously sticking his middle finger directly between the large K and the C on his silver buckle.

The image was just too iconic and needed picture form.

When you're in the mood -- a sketch of Emmy Neother?

Emmy Noether (23 March 1882, Erlangen Germany - 14 April 1935, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania): A Jewish woman mathematician who shaped the fields of modern abstract algebra and algebraic topology, while also contributing a significant theorem for theoretical physics.

She has been proclaimed as one of the greatest women mathematicians, but I believe that to be an understatement: she was one of the greatest mathematicians period. Her impact on modern mathematics cannot easily be overstated as she did not only prove important results but shaped the way we look at these algebraic structures and topological invariants. Perhaps I am a bit biased because I went to undergrad at Bryn Mawr College where she taught for the last two years of her life, but I also remember during a full day seminar on topology held at the school, we took a trip with the visiting mathematicians to her grave on campus. 

I am planning to name my first cat after her, and I highly suggest reading more into her life, which was shaped both by misogyny and antisemitism. These sources provide a nice starting point: Anges Scott Collge, UC San Diego, Britannica. Moreover, while I usually do not recommend wikipedia articles on mathematics for their propensity to be overly technical, her wikipedia article does a good job explaining her contributions to mathematics in a way that is approachable.

Redo of an earlier piece (Inktober - Underwater) with the new program, now also with shading. Also Adjusting to the Dark (vampire!au that Kaiba spends mostly in denial) related because writing that fic has consumed my life. Based on a scene to come. 

If the smells and sounds would taunt him with desires he did not want and thoughts he hated himself for even dreaming, then he would do his best to not hear or smell. The world seemed distant and hazy, but at least in this world, he could pretend that he didn’t know- let alone crave- the taste of blood. He could perhaps let his brother near him as he prepared for the board meeting.

Here are two more versions of me fiddling with the Pridecember Red prompt. I like both for different reasons. The top feels more natural, and you get to see the colors on Kaiba and Atem, while the bottom really focuses on the red aspect and makes that pop.

A redo of the piece I did for the pridecember prompt Red, this time with my new art program. Will probably do a more complicated coloring later, but I was so excited to have the line art done and wanted to share!!!

Got a new art program, so I figured I’d try my hand updating an old sketch. i had a lot of fund with the blending tool cause then everything felt like pastels :)

This was done for the inktober prompt Swift and is based on an implied scene for my Yugioh fic Adjusting to the Dark, which is a ‘Vampire in Denial’ AU. The original sketch came with this snippit:

The garbage collectors quickly fell, but they did not necessarily quickly die. Even in his frenzy, Kaiba- or at least the hunger guiding him- knew that it would take time to eat, time during which the other piece of food could get away. That would be completely unacceptable. He was hungry- no, he was hunger. He needed it all. So, while he instinctively dug his teeth into the nearest meal and pulled for a moment, he left it (or her as he would later realize) with a crushed leg and windpipe. She watched as he feasted on her coworker.

She knew very well what was coming when he turned his attention back to her.

She could have waited for her death longer, though at this point that could hardly be called grace or  luck. Still, it was that only after draining her that he vaguely realized the repulsive shape emitting the ear splitting noises was a vehicle and therefore must contain a driver. A person. More food.

Kaiba does not end up remembering this once the hunger passes. You can tell from the snippit that the hunger is addling his mind here.

Got a new art program and decided to turn one of my earlier sketches into line art! :) Now to try my hand at coloring!

The original sketch was done as a part of Inktober (for the prompt quick) and is based on an implied scene in my vampire!au Adjusting to the Dark. The original sketch came with this little snippit:
