Aileen’s first instinct after the demons appeared was to go look for Nate, or Reid. She did find her brother, though they got separated, and she had to look for him again. At this point, they were the only ones she cared for, and she just wanted to make sure they were fine. But someting found her before she could find them. If asked, she wouldn’t be able to describe it, it looked like nothing she had seen in her life. But it was strong, enough to smack her all the way to the nearest wall, her body hitting it before falling to the ground. A small scream left her lips, although she did try to stand up. Her attempts were futile, as she was instantly thrown back to the ground.

Maddy had been looking for Rosalie after the curtain went up, but had failed to find her. What she did find though was Aileen and she looked to be in a lot of trouble. Maddy wasn’t sure what to do, but she ran over anyways. “Hey you. Leave. Her. Alone.’ she said, hoping to distract the demon long enough for Aileen to get away.

Reid slowly looked towards Maddy, unable to help the scowl present on his lips. “Why don’t you dance with Hugo?”

"He told me he couldn't dance." She said. "And he's checking on his friend. That Asia girl? That's her name right?"

“I need a drink and then some dancing,  you coming or not?”

The fact that Maddy was a vampire made him cringe but she was the only one he could remember from his previous lives and therefore, spending more time with her to know more about himself trumped his desire to stay away from the undead. “Of course, why not.” he said with a small smile.

"I don't bite. I promise." She said, holding her hand out. "I might be a vampire but I don't feed on humans." She reassured him.

"Oh." Maddy froze. "Don't you have a date to get to? Wouldn't she be jealous if you danced with your ex?"

“Are you drunk already?” he asked, raising an eyebrow. “Are you really such a lightweight?”

"I'm not drunk. And I'm not a lightweight. I was just being friendly."

“Yeah, sure. Drinks are cool.” he said with a nervous laugh. “Maddy, I really can’t dance to save my life.” he said panicking a little.

"Oh come on. Everyone can dance." She said, taking his hand and going over to the drinks first. "I promise."

“We’re not allowed to yet. We released a statement after it happened with the basics, but until we find out who did it we can’t go further. And with the chaos that happened that night it could have been anyone in town.” She said. “We don’t destroy evidence, my dear. That’s not our jobs. We get fired for that shit.”

“Um, I - “ Hugo seemed to be at a loss for her. There was something about her which made him lose his breath completely, he could hardly form any coherent words in response. “Nice to meet you, Maddy. I am Hugo.” he squeaked before he took a few quick breaths to calm himself. “Yeah, I - I was supposed to meet my friend but she sort of - didn’t come. So like, you know, people are staring and it’s weird. Thanks a lot for saving me.” 

“It’s lovely to meet you, Hugo.” She said, smiling. He was adorable. She’d only been around him for a minute and she already liked him. “Your friend is stupid for ditching you. You seem like a wonderful guy.” She said, looking down for a second. “No problem. Just pretend I’m the person you were supposed to meet all along.” She stated.
