elderly dog got bone cancer and had to be put down. she made it a SUPER long time for a boxer mix and had great mobility throughout her life both for her age and her joint/bone conditions since childhood but still really sucks that she went down from something that painful. it progressed very suddenly so i didnt get to say goodbye either due to being away from home :[
elderly chickens are dying. yet again made it a very long time for their breeds but still sad, plus lost one of mine and a neighbor's to heat stroke in the past two days despite our best efforts (fans, ice, lots of fresh water, more ice, frozen fruits and vegetables, even more ice, lots of shade, did i mention all the ice) which is a uh. fun reminder of what's coming with global warming regardless of whether we lock in now to not kill ourselves in the next few decades
