Welcome to Japan, the land of the rising sun.

I have wanted to come to Japan for many years now. I’m happy to say I love it so far! The people, the beauty, the food... everything has been so satisfying thus far. I have yet to be disappointed. I still have a few months to go, but I think I will enjoy most, if not all my time here. I have always felt a deep connection to Japan, and I have felt it calling me for some time now... I’m happy to say I’ve finally made it.

大坂城 (Osaka-jo) Osaka Castle

Originally built in 1583, Osaka Castle played a major role in the uniting Japan during the 16th century during the Azuchi-Momoyama period.

I didn’t take many pictures while in Ko Phi Phi. This was definitely a breath taking place. Huge mountains and sandy beaches. Paradise. With this “boat tour” we visited a few different places around Ko Phi Phi, and it was maybe too much fun... :D

This was a day trip to visit some of the Similan Islands. We were able to snorkel and see the sea life, amazingly beautiful! The landscape was seriously breathtaking. An unforgettable experience!

Supposedly the most important out of the 29 Buddhist Temples in Phuket. 

I really loved this temple, walking though the inside was spectacular. It featured all the buddhas of the week if I’m remembering correctly. Including my buddha, the leaning buddha (Tuesday).

I really loved this structure. The floral ceramics and tiles all over the building are beautiful. So much detail goes into these buildings its mind-blowingly beautiful.

Yak, demon, ogre, giant... 

“The Yak of Thailand: Folk Icons Transcending Culture, Religion, and Media

The most famous Yak in Thailand are located in the Royal

temple, Wat Phra Kaew, in Bangkok. This temple contains the

famous Emerald Buddha cut from a single block of jade.

Tradition suggests that the jade block originated from a

mountain where Yak once stood guard, giving protection to

the jade deposits for centuries. The Yak followed the jade

block from the original mountain, standing guard as the

Buddha was cut from the stone, protecting the Emerald

Buddha on his journey. Today, the Yak stands outside Wat

Phra Kaew guarding the Emerald Buddah to this day [19].”

I’ll start this photo-blog with one of my most favorite places and pictures. College of Charleston, a place that has changed me so much with in a short amount of time. As I’m still in the beginning of this new journey, I look back to see how I have gotten this privilege to experience the world. I’m thankful to my parents, family, friends, professors/teachers, and classmates who have supported me on this life adventure. Those who have changed me one way or another so I can be the person I am today. I am grateful to you all. Those who know me, know that I can be rather crazy and forthright, but they also know that I care deeply about many things and many people. If I’m interested in something I become obsessed with surrounding myself in whatever it may be. Right now, I feel very passionate about sharing my experiences and showing how different and yet connected the entire world is.

There is much to come from this blog... I hope. I will back track first to the beginning of my adventure, and then eventually catch up with the present. 

I’m not a good writer or photographer, so for me this is a space where I can share places I believe are beautiful with anyone who is interested. I may write some thoughts about my images or experiences, but please remember, I’m no writer, so forgive me for my mistakes.
