It’s his origin story. Gosh, darn it, and I stick to it! It adds to literally each and everyone of his back stories! Because what is the deepest human fear, but alienation for difference? And what is not human nature, but using that against your foes?

I’m just saying it gets poetic real quick, and I think it should be studied why people avoid this part. Sure the Ikabod Crane connection might seem silly at first but, it actually fits the grandmother character, that they created really well. She’s a traditionalist logical or not. Maybe the family was just like that? Tall unusual isolated? Their love and protection of each other starts to rot away into something caustic.

Im just saying that this makes sense to his story. It’s not his fault he is tall, or his family long forgot that love was supposed to be safe. But his actions are.
