ive said it before but it really does bug me how this site (and “progressives” across the board) hear “sex work” and will only advocate for the girl with an onlyfans, or someone camming or something. and yes they absolutely need advocates. but i have a feeling most of yall either forget or choose not to think about full service workers.

sex work is shown as “sexy” and “empowering” when youre taking pictures of yourself to sell, but god forbid you physically make somebody cum for money. often we are derided, patronized and seen as unwitting victims, or simply left out of the discussion (and trust me the silence is DEAFENING and says a lot on its own)

Some trans people have forgotten that transsexuality, the entire trans way of existing, was founded under the medical wing of the medicaceral complex. It was a negotiation between people who wanted surgery, who wanted gender affirming care, and doctors who wanted to use their racist understandings of sex to study us.

Our way of existence emerged from that system and survived at least a partial process of de-medicalization, but we shouldn't forget about those who are still there.

This is why transfeminism should support narcissists, and why it should support cluster-b people more generally, this is why transfeminism must oppose the medicalization of Black bodies, why it must tear down the flawed and distorted system of seeing problems derived from "disordered" ways of living as problems to be solved within the individual. Diagnosis is simply an act of categorizing a problem, it is the construction of that problem as entirely one of the diagnosed, no societal investigation required.

Just like how diagnosing a trans person with gender dysphoria does not solve the social and political problem of gender assignment, so too does the medicalization of nearly every mental disorder or physical illness fail to solve the social and political problems which produce them.

urgent help with living costs

hello! i am in desperate need of help with some living costs for the month of may. i am trying to contribute a set amount of rent towards refinancing our house that we will have to do in a few months. the sooner im able to get my debts cleared, the sooner ill be able to put more towards keeping myself housed. the gofundme has been helping, but almost all of the funds towards that are being put towards my existing debt from medical expenses that ive stacked on multiple credit cards throughout the years. i just cannot keep up! or catch a break!
