Changing of the guard at Greece's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It was about 95 degrees and these guys were flawless. Very moving to watch.

Scale model of a type of crane used to construct the Temple of Athena... pretty sure a couple of my work colleagues were operating these when they started their careers. 😂 Amazing that although materials technology and the systems to power cranes are now powerful and sophisticated technologies, the basic principles have been in use for a couple thousand years.

Temple of Athena, Acropolis, Athens, Greece. First time there has been no external scaffolding on the temple in over 20 years. Amazing work at this place. And, it was about 179 degrees when I was taking these...😬

Pammukale, Turkiye. Mineral rich hot springs have created a massive travertine marble outcrop. The hot springs have been used for thousands of years by people in the area for their healing properties. Including such notable visitors as Queen Cleopatra!

Solid Ash charcuterie board. 32 in/81 cm finished with a food safe mineral oil/beeswax mix. Housewarming gift for a work colleague and family. Theoretically his kids should be able to hand it down to their kids if someone sands it down every 20 years or so and keeps it oiled.

When you have extra butcher block, might as well make some cutting boards. 2 inch thick Ash, rabbetted around the bottom to match each sink so they sit down inside the top. Each also has silicone feet so they can be used on the counter. Finished with 5 coats of mineral oil butcher block sealant.
