Broken Gears

(She/her) A blog to show the progress about my indie animation project, Broken Gears (placeholder name, might) which follows Alina being slowly suffocated by her mother and her sisters coming Enlightenment. For the Enlightened Queen wanted to bear only one daughter but ended up with two, and once Alina starts sneaking into the streets of her kingdom and finding herself among it's broken down people. Maybe she can fix the rust buried deep in her family (this description sucks, I'll make it better i promise guys)

Okay, intro post. Wow. So, hi. For those who don't already know me from my fanfic bullshit, I'm Mads. A writer who's here to try and learn animation to bring you my indie animation project.

The name for my show right now is Broken Gears, I will probably change it at one point so let's hope i can find something better at some point.

If you didn't read from the description, this shitshoq follows Alina. Heiress who was never meant to be Heiress as her mother already had a child -her sister Elita- for the coming Enlightenment and Alina is just...a waste. The palace and second place is all she's ever known, knowing she was just forgotten by her kingdom and her mother without love. That is, until she left.

She leaves the palace for the first time in fifteen years and sees what life is down in the streets, sees their pain their struggle, just how little her mother cares even about her own people. But these people- as broken and funked up as they are they help her find th version of herself that isn't a waste, that can be more.

Yeah the description sucks ass, I tried and I'll change it up as I keept writing, but this is for me to share progress and to hopefully bring this concept of my owl house-y, steampunk trauma fulled world to you guys eventually! Please ask whatever questions about the fun lore you have, I'll probly be better at explaining it there and welcome to the world of the Enlightenment.

Weapons. Trained, tested, forged in steel and fire. Failure is an inevitability that ends in death. Pain should not be felt--it should be recognized, familiar, and inconsequential

Martyrs. In the form of servants and princes, of leaders and underdogs. If blood is necessary, the martyr will lift their hands and offer it all

Shields. Like tempering a sword, but only to bear and not to lash out. Wounds are medals--not symbols of pride, but symbols of worth. A pretty shield is useless; scars mean a job well done

Experiments. Raised on the cold comfort of a lab table. Restraints are only necessary when they're not in their right mind. Is it honorable, to be twisted beyond recognition? Or is it just a necessary evil?

Monsters. Cruelty, caution, and regarding one as a creature beyond reasonable thought is tempering in its own right. But if you keep a leash at the right length, perhaps the massecre won't reach you. One can hope.

Idols. Pretty face, pretty name, pretty hands around their shoulders and throat. There to seduce, manipulate, force any feeling to come to the surface and twist it to their favor. Any genuinity stays locked behind the guilded cage that surrounds their pretty little heart

Trophies. Status and wealth and the traditions that keep someone at their heels, on their knees, to display and serve and decorate one's ballroom.

Sacrifices. Drenched in honorable clothes, prepared and adored and cleansed. The gift of hope at the cost of one's life. Is it taken with no fight? How can you escape the ropes you were born in?
