Okay I JUST realized I never posted these on here—- BUT BASICALLY, about a year and a half ago I started doing these experimental black hairstyle posts that were threads long on Twitter, to give artists a source of inspo for their black ocs whose hair they wanted to try something new with! There’s more to black hair than just the selected styles portrayed in media, and I thought it would be fun to show people how much texture, shape, fades, length, and style can be combined when drawing black hair—-cause it’s a kind of manipulation our hair can do irl! The OG posts were lost with the hacking of my original Twitter account (@/bagels_donuts) but I’ve since reuploaded the whole thread to my new Twitter (@/ItsDonutsFR)! You probably get asked this a lot, but how do you draw hands? Even when I'm tracing, they look so weird 🙃

I could probably go on and on and on about hands, but here are some key points I compiled! I LOVE drawing hands, and I never hesitate to use my own as a reference

does anyone know if i can like block sites from appearing in my google images searches??? i keep getting those awful ai generated things with a hand coming out of a man's neck and just straight up not what i was looking for, because this was in a search for "curly hair in medieval paintings". it happens every time i search for anything vaguely art-reference-like and it's so fucking annoying and it clutters my search results so much. i don't wanna add specific commands to the query every time too, what i need is like a browser extension or something

I made a list of as many ai sites i could find to block with ublacklist, just copy and paste them in ublacklist's options menu

I mostly start with a rectangle shape for the palm and then add fingers and thumb one after the other. and always always always use reference pictures for more complicated poses. if you study a lot of hands you'll get a feeling for their shapes.

The most paranormal thing about xfiles is Scully's hair style so fucking gorgeous.

I like her Dolls song used in M3gan trailer, and all the few others songs she has for strong femme vibes. While doing this portrait I found out that she kick started a singing career by doing lip sync on TikTok. In interview she seems so awkward and shy. I love her anime inspired makeup.
