While Ruze is vying for the title of Most Adoptable Grown Man, one question remains...
Who's the most adoptable Ruze?
Crimzon Ruze (the original)
Azure
Turquoise
Verdant
Citrine
Vermilion
Quinacridone
Obsidian
I have a feeling I know who will win, but I'm genuinely curious if my opinion reflects the majority.
i'm so sad i missed this poll even tho i know i would 100% vote turq anyways TwT
I was thinking of possibly rerunning it to give more people the chance to vote, as well as doing another one with the CRew.
Most Adoptable Grown Man Contest - Round 9 [FINALE]
Which grown man is THE MOST adoptable?
Martin Blackwood - The Magnus Archives
Kim Soleum - GDCG/GSGW
Imma be honest. I did not predict this finale, like, at all. So...let's see how this goes!
This contest has been a wild ride over these past, like, 2 months and I'm so excited to see how the first contest of this blog ends!
Why I am voting for Kim Soleum (as a Ruzader):
Even though he beat Apollo, I still think KSE should win because of the two remaining, he better meets my criteria for "most adoptable": he's been either adopted or in a situation similar to adoption multiple times as a grown man. "Needs a better family situation" shows adoptability, sure, but being adopted or in a similar situation multiple times shows high levels of adoptability, making him more suited to the title of "Most Adoptable Grown Man".
Also this contest got me to actually read the webnovel of GSGW, and though I'm still not that far in yet I've gotten absolutely hooked, and I genuinely love Soleum as a protagonist.
My compunctions against voting for Martin are not his fault, in fact they're largely circumstantial. Yes, I've heard good things about him and his adoptability. However, given what happened in the last 12 hours of the previous round of the poll, voting for Martin feels a little like siding with Lady Luck to me. And as a Ruzader, I would rather not side with Ruze's mortal enemy who devises increasingly creative ways to make him suffer or otherwise make his life difficult, both in-lore and IRL (the sheer number of real-life stories he has about his bad luck is kind of staggering), and who both canonically wants him dead and less-canonically regularly sends him threatening text messages.
And while he may be plenty adoptable, I just genuinely think KSE is more adoptable than him by a matter of degrees.
Also given the size of the TMA fandom on Tumblr (as we saw in the previous round), the GSGW fans are once again the underdog here, and could use some help, even from their former rivals.
And so I support the proposition of a new alliance, between the old alliance and KSE fans.
People should vote for whoever they like, of course, but I personally recommend voting for Kim Soleum for Most Adoptable Grown Man.

With only two rounds left, I finally got a better image for Ruze because I looked for two more seconds lmao
Okay so, some people are saying that they want to see Soleum and Martin fight it out in the finals because they're both horror protagonists. That's all fine and good, but have you considered:
Both Ruze and Kim Soleum's basic approach to horror can be boiled down to: terrified, but lock the hell in to get through it as fast as possible so they don't have to be there any longer than they have to while resourcefully trying to get the best outcome they can. For Ruze, this is showcased in his playthrough of The Mortuary Assistant, where he spent over an hour being spooked by the tutorial before he eventually locked in, got through it, and wound up getting the good ending on his first try. That playthrough could also be seen as him becoming an honorary horror protagonist in a way, so the appeal is also still there, if in a slightly different form.
Personally, I want to see the two of them fight it out. I want to see the kind of wild crossovers that could happen as a result of them fighting it out, as someone who both is a Ruzader and has recently become a GSGW fan. I want to see the meta-narrative arc that's been building up this whole contest (two rivals team up because they decide they're the only one to defeat each other, but a new rival arises and defeats one of them, and the other swears he'll avenge him by taking on the one who defeated him) be able to run its course and reach a satisfying conclusion rather than getting cut short as it's starting to get really good. I promise you, it will be a fun time.
But that can only happen if you vote for Ruze.
So please, even if you're a fan of TMA, or a GSGW fan who considered teaming up with the TMA fans to vote for Martin, have it in your heart to at least consider voting for Ruze. Martin's also in the Poor Meow Meow competition from what I've heard, so losing this doesn't mean he loses everything, you can still vote for him there. If it helps, you can think of it as having your cake and eating it at the same time.
I had a dream last night that fans of Remi from District V were called "Daydreamers", and I kind of want to make it a reality.

Why vote Ruze?
It'll piss him off
it'll offend the funny man haha he's adorable lovable and adoptable cutie pie softie at heart sweet beloved talented amazing great oshi and inspirational figure to his Ruzaders
Get loved idiot.
Wait...so you're asking people to vote for him because it'll piss him off if he wins and he hears about it?
I'm kind of hoping this is an inside fandom joke that I'm not getting or something, because otherwise that just feels kind of disrespectful? Like, I said, maybe I'm missing something since I've never seen any of his stuff before.
So the dynamic between Ruze and the Ruzaders (as actively promoted by Ruze himself) is one of mutually-agreed-on playful antagonism. He teases the Ruzaders, the Ruzaders tease him back, the Ruzaders are nice to each other and everybody else.
Any pissing off is done affectionately and/or jokingly.
Also I don't think it would actually piss him off given that he's been promoting it pretty frequently and asking us to fight on his behalf. He even did a Minecraft stream where he put cat ears on his model and used a resource that made it look like he was sitting in a box to show how adoptable he was.

Why you should vote for Crimzon Ruze in the semifinals:
He's very, very adoptable. Seriously, he's so adoptable that he gets adopted multiple times per month via his top membership tier (Glucose Guardian, referred to as an "adoption" in its description and treated as such), which was supposed to be a joke but a number of people who had the means decided to do it anyway.
He's been following the poll and would like very much to win.
He's been tentatively referring to himself as the Most Adoptable Grown Man among his many titles in his stream intros recently and we want to make that come true for him.
A final round between Crimzon Ruze and Kim Soleum would be absolutely epic in every sense of the word.
If Ruze makes it to the final round, he can avenge Apollo Justice
He has talked multiple times in the past in some of his chatting streams about how he would want to be adopted by a rich, noble family as their "garden artist" or "garden hermit" (who worldbuilds to entertain their guests or something)
Beneath his seemingly-rough exterior, he's a huge nerd with very high emotional intelligence and empathy who absolutely loves cats and bugs
He's also a total gremlin (/pos)
Despite this, he winds up being stuck holding the braincell and being forced into the role of voice of reason in collabs with his gen, ARMIS, by virtue of being the one with the most common sense (and sometimes with the other Holostars EN boys too).
His brain houses seven ghosts, one of whom (Turquoise) is even more adoptable than he is.
His weird gremlin laugh is so hearty and genuine that it's pure serotonin. Seriously, I can't help but smile a little whenever he laughs, even if it's at the Ruzaders' expense.
His approach to horror is really similar to Kim Soleum's and I want to see them fight each other.
The Ruzaders are a very powerful ally to have in literally any situation.
he's holostars pls pls pls

the addition of apollo justice into the franchise is such an incredible move and i need more people to appreciate apollo as the comedic "straight-man" to the rest of ace attorney's chaos that he is!!! almost constantly this man is placed in the wildest of scenarios and is the only one going "what are we even talking about right now" and it's SO perfect and i love him so much actually please appreciate apollo justice for what he brings to the table!!! nobody wants to be in an ace attorney game less than apollo justice and i love that for him!!!! in my mind apollo justice had to go through all of the real world years of law school (i know that wouldn't make sense with his age but walk with me) and when he finds out klavier started prosecuting at age 17 his brain falls out of his ass because what do you MEAN???? he's also like the only one who genuinely wants to do his job. constantly this man is like "hey can i do my job? can i be a lawyer?? what you are doing is not the job of a lawyer can i please do mY JOB?? CAN I PLEASE BE A LAWYER WHICH IS MY JOB??" and it's just. he's so perfect. to me. <3
My favorite thing about this is that in a more grounded and realistic series, Apollo would be the quirky one. He's a passionate man who does shouting practice before court to make sure his "Chords of Steel" are warmed up properly, like a shonen protagonist who grew up and went to law school. But since this is Ace Attorney, he's so surrounded by weirdness that he winds up being the sane and rational one by comparison because he's the only one who remembered to bring his common sense to work today, everyday. It's such an interesting take on the concept of straight-man and I absolutely love it to pieces.
One of the hardest skills I've been trying to learn recently is how to let myself take up space, especially online. How to let anything slightly dumb that I've said that my brain wants to hypercriticize and tear down just stay where it is without having it haunt me.
Who cares if I haven't checked every single possible angle that it could even remotely go wrong? Turns out the answer is usually just the anxious little voice in the back of my head; most people genuinely don't care, or don't see it that way at all. Part of the fun of groups or communities is people being a little bit silly together.
Hey, you; yeah, you, the one reading this: Remember that you are not an intruder on the world around you. You don't need to ask permission to exist in a space. It's your life, and you deserve to live it, just as much as anyone else deserves to live theirs. Just take life as it comes.
Could whoever is pulling the possibilities please knock it off? The erosion of my sense of reality is no longer amusing.
I am just so in love with gaining a working knowledge of various things. It gives you superpowers. That's not hyperbole, when you find out how something works, it actually changes the way you look at the world both figuratively and literally. I have so much more fun with things when I know about them.
Learning a little music theory or even just how to listen to music and pay attention analytically does so much. Music is a delicious lasagna instead of nice lyrics and a catchy melody. Plants all looked boring to me until I worked at a greenhouse and had to identify them by their leaves, and now I can look at wildflowers and weeds and forest undergrowth without getting bored, even if there are no interesting berries or flowers. Learning Japanese opened up a whole people group to understand, where before they may as well have been speaking nonsense (to me, anyway).
I'm not an expert in any of these, not by a long shot. But that's the point. Even basic understanding goes such a long way. Fall down the rabbit hole. Learn a language. Practice a skill. It changes your life for the better in things that you don't even realize you're missing out on because you've never known anything different.
A thing I did on my (android) phone. Also yes, this is my fan design for Sora from Sinsy.
Whoever came up with the idea of an ice cream sandwich consisting of a glob of vanilla ice cream crammed between two chocolate chip cookies was a genius. Why didn't we as a species figure this out sooner?
