TASK 10
Interview a maker/ seller
I have decided to interview my godmother back in Poland when I visited for a couple weeks in the summer. I had to translate the original interview so this is the overall outcome. The original recording had to be deleted because of low memory storage on my phone but I was just in time to translate.
Q.Please introduce yourself and state what you make/sell :
A.Hello, my name is Kasia and I am Maggie’s godmother. I like to make bracelets as a hobby.
Q.So, how long have you been taking up this hobby?
A. It hasn’t been that long, maybe 4-6 months?
Q. What made you start it?
A. To be honest, I just wanted to try out something new and stress relieving and found out that one of my closest friends were into making them and I thought- why not give it a go.
Q. Where do you get your materials from?
A. I get it from local crafts store or online.
Q.What do you do with them after you make them?
A. I like to give them away to friends or family members.
Q. Any inspirations?
A. I like to walk around and browse different jewelry/ second-hand shops for inspiration/ use my creative imagination.
Q. How many have you made so far?
A. Maybe around 20-50? I am not too sure as I give them away, I lose track.
Q. Any favorite ones?
A. Yes, my recent one is actually one of my favorites, it has small, red, glass beads with little roses painted on them. I gave it away to one of my friends. It is a shame I didn’t get the chance to take a picture of it.
Q. Do you think that you will sell them or go further with your hobby in the future?
A. To be honest, I don’t think that this will bring me anywhere money wise. I just like to make people smile when I give them a bracelet.
Q. Last question. If you were to be given a task to produce one of the best and most beautiful bracelets in the world, what would it look like
A. It would definitely be a bit on the expensive side but I would go for a floral, violet roses with maybe a gold finish.
Q. Thank you very much for your time and answering these questions.
A. It was my pleasure, thank you for having me,
