Unpopular opinion (I’m guessing) but after my many years in Dragon Age, I’ve come to this conclusion about my romance choices:

Origins: Alistair is that first boyfriend you fall in love with, but ultimately it ends in heartbreak because it’s just not the right time and he needs to grow up in a lot of ways. A piece of your heart will always be his though.

DA2: Whomever you romance in DA2 is the chaotic rebound you actually care for, but know ultimately it will never work out. Even so, you want nothing but the best for them because they cared for you too.

Inquisition: Cullen is the man who teaches you what being loved means—and what it means to truly love someone for who they are. Because while he may have some growing to do in a few areas, he’s mature in all the right ones and willing to grow in the others. And when it comes to you, he is soft, he is tender and he is kind. He is your safe place and you are his because both of you know, no matter what may come, you’ll put each other first and neither of you are going anywhere. He’s the husband material.
