Nathaira scoffs,
"Verify my words? You must not be a very good mage if you cannot sense my energy, or just blind. But fine, if you require such proof, then I cannot deny you satisfaction. I sincerely hope for your own good that this mountainside is strong enough."
She takes a few steps back and turns her face skywards, raising her hands as if in prayer. A beam of blood red light strikes down from above, passing straight through her. The mortal form twists and grows, getting longer and shifting into something else. As the light dissipates, no longer does the young woman from before stand.
A serpent, towering at 30 feet, looms over Glowhaven, casting a shadow big enough to engulf the humble abode. The top half of a woman's body peers from above, unclothed except for the snake-like scales scattered all over her torso. She bends down, the enormous body coming face to face with that of Morgan,
"Is this confirmation enough?" Nathaira hisses, her voice oddly echoey.
In a flash of light, the serpent is gone, and the same mortal figure walks forward, letting herself into the house.
"Now that that's cleared, I'd urge you to listen and make your judgment quickly. It'd be wise to send forth a message to your other companion as well"
She sighs, swiping at her cheek with the heel of her palm as she sits down on a wooden chair, "Whatever method you use get information will soon arrive to tell you that a wildborn settlement eastside of Wrathdood Grove has been destroyed and a majority of the civilians have been killed." Her yellow eyes bore into the woodgrain, not daring to look up.
"I have spent countless years within the wildborn tribes, for over five thousand years I have lived amongst the innocent, unknowing mortals, watched them develop, seen their devotion, learnt their habits, met their young. Generations born, grow, serve and then wither away. I have witnessed this, not Azora. It was not Azora who saw them build the great treehouse, not Azora who saw them hunt for survival, not Azora who saw the children play, to be brought up as warriors." she looks up, pride gleaming in her eyes, but the emotions morph, rage clouds her face, then hatred and finally utter helplessness. "She does not possess the same compassion for her own creations the way I do."
"The goddess will fall, Morgan. Sarathiel has already taken to corruption, cowering away at Tuttleton, abandoning his own followers. The Halians have no morals; they lie, hunt and enslave the wildborn. War will happen, and with it devastation," she spits, venom in her words, "Azora is not far behind, her mania is contained but barely"
Nathaira looks away, eyes pricking again, "Azora controls me, I am her creation, I am her child of destruction. A single command from her is enough for me to destroy much more than that small settlement. Tell me, Morgan, do you care about anyone? Perhaps a partner? a sibling? Someone you adore?" tears flow freely,
"Did you ever have to pull the carcass of someone you loved out of a destroyed house, knowing you caused it? you caused their death," she lifts up her arms, cuts and scratches, still bleeding.
"I live with the constant threat of what Azora will make me do, because I can't control it. These wildborn, they are like children to me; this devastation was but a small example of what could happen, how the next moment all that would remain of the memory of the wildborn would be a smudge on the face of Esperia because the goddess threw a fit."
"You and your partner are the only people I know trying to prevent it, you are my only choice, so feast your eyes on a divine being begging at your feet, do what you will but please, help me"
