to say that sprx was surprised by the question was an understatement. it felt as though it came out of nowhere and knocked the breath out of him. here’s the kicker, however-- mandarin couldn’t have been any closer to how he was feeling lately than that one statement. sure he had his happy, goofy moments.. but he really felt like he was drowning. and he didn’t like that the skeleton king’s right hand could spot that from a mile away.

truthfully-- it was suffocating. to feel as though you destroy everything that you touch, to feel that the team would be just fine if you weren’t there- to think that the skeleton king wouldn’t be a threat now if you were just strong enough or smart enough. but he was never going to give mandarin that truth-- not in a million years.

“ how about you mind your own business and stop worrying about what i’m feeling? maybe you should focus on not being thrown out of the window. ”
