get up and stretch. walk around a lil. move ur body. take a break from staring at a screen. if it is nice outside, crack the window open and let in a nice breeze. maybe even get up and go outside for a minute.

it is okay if your queue runs out. it is ok if you can’t find the inspiration or motivation to play. it is ok to take a hiatus from the game to refresh or focus on other things for a while.

please do not neglect homework for the sims. do not let ur grades slip because of a game. there’s no deadline for the sims, it will still be here when you get back.

if you want to change your style, do it. if you don’t want to continue whatever story/legacy/etc you’re playing atm, you don’t have to. do not let the pressure of pleasing followers stop you from playing how you want to. it is your game, it is your blog. there are a million different ways to play. do whatever you feel you enjoy the most.

just because you admire someone else’s style does not make their style better than yours. you do not have to make your sims look a certain way just because it’s popular. again, it is your game, play it however you want. 

remember that sims is not something to stress out about. it is just a computer game with pixel people who do silly things. a fun hobby. if you don’t feel like playing, don’t force yourself to play. the sims is nothing to get stressed out about.

Extreme Slider Tutorial!

If you want really weird looking sims there’s a trick where you can exploit the sliders way beyond their normal limits. It also helps a lot to have custom sliders :) I wrote about it back in 2015, but this time there’s pictures! My example here is making a cyclops, but it applies to the whole face so it can be fun to mess around with (example Weesnaw and friends)

By request, here is the “invisible” roads default I made to match my lush terrain default. Please note that this is not universally invisible. It is only “invisible” on this terrain because its textures match the terrain’s textures, so that you cannot see where the roads are. On any other terrain, you’ll have “roads” with my lush terrain’s textures, and it will look very silly. So, this will only be useful to you if you use my lush terrain and you want to have a lush neighborhood where you can’t see the roads. Otherwise, there’s no reason to have this. 

If you do download and use it, obviously you’ll want to mod out neighborhood traffic and delete all the stop signs from intersections to complete the illusion; I left both in my testing neighborhood simply so that you can see where the roads actually are in the pictures. Also, if you use this, it will replace the roads in ALL neighborhoods and subneighborhoods that use the lush terrain. You will need to take it in and out of your downloads to play different lush neighborhoods unless you want them all to have “invisible” roads. You’ll also need to take it out if you want to place new lots, as doing so without being able to see the roads is problematic. :)

Before anyone asks: I’m not interested in making any other invisible road defaults at this time. I did this one for a specific purpose – my pseudo-Amish neighborhood – and I don’t plan to have any other “roadless” neighborhoods at this point in time. Feel free to use this as a template for making other defaults yourself, however. All you need to do is replace the texture images in it with the appropriate one from whatever default terrain you’re using. (If you’re using Maxis ones, those textures can be found in the program files, specifically Program Files(x86)/EA GAMES/The Sims 2/TSData/Res/Sims3D/Textures.package. Open that file in SimPE and find/export the texture you need.)

Say hello to Clean UI (totally standard name subject to change). Hood selection stuff is almost finished. I will incorporate all useful UI mods because they would of course conflict with my modifications. Still a long way to go but I always wanted to see a modern UI and I actually laughed at how bad/outdated the original interface is now that I worked with it quite some time!
