hi i would love to know your pick for some good short stories!
Hey! Short stories are not my forte, but there’s a few recs for that here. Most precisely this one post, though it’s old; and there’s more here as well. It’s not my favourite genre so I don’t have one intense recommendation to offer—you’ll see I have a soft spot for Maupassant and Carter and du Maurier and Jackson, and overall eerie short stories are what I like best. There’s a much better, frankly amazing horror short stories list here.
It wasn’t only wickedness and scheming that made people unhappy, it was confusion and misunderstanding; above all, it was the failure to grasp the simple truth that other people are as real as you.
