Crochet Flower Patterns // Tanitka Lace
I stumbled across a photo (by Lindy Pollard) that fantastically mirrors a little dragon I drew a few years ago.... I can't get over this...
AJSJJDKSJD THE QUILTING SHOW MY GMA WANTS TO GO TO HAS A โFREE TICKET FOR UNDER 30sโ IM!!!!! thatโs SO funny ?? They wanna encourage young ppl SO much to get into quilting
what i imagine the quilting convention back room looks like
this is happening tmrw im soooo excited!!! my gma is bringing her walking stick for age related reasons but also so she can quote โknock those old ladies OUT of my wayโ
yโall it was so much fun, there were so many Incredible quilts there, i had an awesome time. here are some photos i took of the quilts, forgive me for how crooked most of them are, i took them v quickly bc my gma was getting tired
i wanna shout out this last oneโITS ALL THREAD PAINTING. THE WHOLE THING. itโs. i should have got a close up of it but itโs all thread painted itโs so so cool
& yet MORE quiltsโฆ
i wanna shout out the top picture โ the skull quilt was so cool first of all & itโs ALSO the artists FIRST QUILT??? it was so incredibly cool & detailed I rly loved it. i also wanna point out the last quilt here, all of these flowers are applique & i had so much trouble keeping from TOUCHING it (which ur not allowed to do ofc). it was so gorgeous. the close up square above it is from the same quilt. just wow!
Reminder to everyone to go join your local quilt guild.
Ppl: โGlaze and nightshade all your art!!โ
Also ppl: * does not mention that you need to have a fucking NVIDIA GPU and running nightshade on one image takes at best 20 minutes*
Like the online version of glaze/nightshade requires an account. And last time i checked they arent accepting new accounts because of the high pressure.
Like i make my art on my ipad. My MacBook is from 2014. If i tried to download and run nightshade on my decade old macbook and go throufg 10+ years of artworks i might as well just set it on fire.
Like majority of digital artists doesnt actually have a high end gaming pc setup. It is unrealistic to expect everyone to be able to run such a heavy program just so we can feel somewhat ok with sharing our drawings online. Itโs ridiculous. I CAN NOT nightshade or glaze my artworks even if i wanted to.
I have a pretty decent gaming PC, and despite this I had to close ALL the running programs I had running in the background (aka Discord and Opera) to let it shade my art, and the result was honestly quite awful even on the lowest setting.
I have already shared it around, but if you can't run it try Artshield.
It will add a big watermark all over your piece (there's also a check button to be sure it worked). It works best on pieces with a colored background, with white backgrounds or B/W piece it won't always work, but it's worth trying it.
Also, post at the lowest resolution possible (I go with 72dpi, keeping the highest one for clients and Ko-Fi rewards only), maybe add a noise effect too. I always did it but I read a while ago it makes a bit difficult for the A/I to scrape the piece. Not sure if it's still true, but still, worth a shot.
Glaze and Nightshade are great tool, but they're sadly unusable for a lot of people, and I hope they'll find a solution.
Hey I made a post of available options to people who don't have a powerful tech + tips to make glazing/shading not as ugly :]
Iโm sorry friends, but โjust google itโ is no longer viable advice. What are we even telling people to do anymore, go try to google useful info and the first three pages are just ads for products that might be the exact opposite of what the person is trying to find but The Algorithm thinks the words are related enough? And if itโs not ads itโs just sponsored websites filled with listicles, just pages and pages of โTOP FIFTEEN [thing you googled] IMAGINED AS DISNEY PRINCESSESโ likeโฆ what are we even doing anymore, google? I can no longer use you as shorthand for people doing real and actual helpful research on their own.
Time to drop some links again.
โ https://searchmysite.net/ Search engine for the indie web, personal websites, digital gardens. You can also find them in websites like Neocities, Indieweb, Blogarama, and write.as. There is also a big list of personal websites.
โ https://search.marginalia.nu/ Search engine that focuses on non-commercial content, and promotes websites that arenโt usually at the top of the list.
โ https://www.worldcat.org/ Search engine for items in libraries (books, but also maps, articles, sound recordings, theses, etc.)
โ https://scholar.google.com/ Search engine for scientific papers, reviews, etc. Itโs still google, but a lot better than the normal search engine counterpart.
โ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_search_engines A list of search engines sorted by subject, area, and more. If youโre searching on a specific area, it might be worth checking if there is one focused on that area.
โ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_academic_databases_and_search_engines A list of academic databases and search engines.
โ https://tineye.com/ Reverse image search alternative to Googleโs. Also, P.S.: Please stop using Google, and start using more privacy focused search engines, like DuckDuckGo or SearchX (opensource; personally havenโt used it yet, but it looks promising for privacy-focused users)

I am pretty happy with it, it pours quite nicely without the lid falling off :}
It can hold 500ml / 17oz.

Cherished One, And his previous incarnation
The Spiral Shelled Abyssal is a pelagic drake that is found across the globe. Despite the extreme dimorphism the Spiral Shelled Abyssal is actually a distant relative to the Sky Abyssal.ย
This drake gets itโs name from itโs bizarre shell structure. Despite its impressive shape and size the shell is quite light and even aids in the drakeโs buoyancy. Males and females are nearly identical however maleโs shells will grow and spiral through itโs life. Much like the rings of a tree the number of spirals can help indicate age.ย
While not particularly fast the Spiral Shelled abyssal can travel vast distances, feeding primarily on plankton and other small invertebrates. However they are not picky eaters and will feed on just about anything they can catch.ย
Much like their airborne cousins the Spiral Shelled Abyssal are solitary and will only pair off during the mating season. Females will deposit their eggs in small batches, typically on rocks or floating plant life. Young Spiraled Shelled Abyssals are shell-less and will develop their signature shells as they age.
