14. Carve my name in a tree
So I'm pretty certain I've never done this??? So I took out my pocket knife and tried to carve. It's a lot harder than it looks, so I just did my initials!

14. Carve my name in a tree
So I'm pretty certain I've never done this??? So I took out my pocket knife and tried to carve. It's a lot harder than it looks, so I just did my initials!
13. Watch my favorite Disney movies
I wanted to do this to expand my movie watching, because I usually watch the same movies over and over. And there's something really relaxing about sitting down and watching a Disney movie, especially one you remember from your childhood.
12. Run through a sprinkler
I took my niece and nephew to this play ground that has a bunch of water and sprinklers, and of course I had to run through a couple times!
11. Sit outside for two hours
For some reason, I didn't think I was going to spend a lot of time outside this year??? But I've pretty much spent the past month outside, so this is a check.
10. Watch/read 5 new movies/books
I read The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling and The Bully Book by Erik Gale.
The beginning of The Casual Vacancy was slow, but I got into it soon enough, and I enjoyed it. The Bully Book was so good, definitely recommend for any middle schoolers or high schoolers.
I watched Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, This is the End, and Iron Man 3.
Loved Iron Man 3, it was the best Iron Man movie in my opinion. Hansel and Gretel was mediocre, it's definitely a lot darker than I thought it would be. Definitely not for kids. And This is the End was funny, but by the end of the movie, I was getting kind of bored.
9. Go to the stairs
There's this huge set of stairs near my house that people run up and down. My friends have done it a couple of times, but I never had. So I decided to go with them, and I ended up doing 7 cycles...which was a lot. About halfway through my first cycle, I wanted to cry, but I stuck it out!
8. Go to the arboretum
Another must in the summer time. We gathered up all the kids in my family and took a ride to the arboretum. I absolutely love it, because I think all kids should spend more time outside, so it makes me happy to see my nieces and nephew having fun outdoors. And it's fun for me too. :]
7. Dance in the rain
No matter how old you are, you always have to do this. There was a bad storm in my town a couple days ago, and when it had cleared up a little, my friends and I took a walk. In hindsight, probably not our best idea.
6. Dye my hair
I've wanted to put a purple streak in my hair since I was a little kid, and I did it this week! I need to redo it already, because it isn't staying in, but I'm still glad I did it!
5. Make butterbeer
I'm a big Harry Potter fan, so a couple nights ago my friends and I ran to Jewel and picked up some stuff for butterbeer. We also made some cookies, and it was a nice little midnight snack!
4. Go to a concert
DARREN CRISS! I went to see Darren Criss tonight! And I'm still super pumped, so that's all.
3. Listen to a new artist
I'm a big country fan, so I've started listening to Kacey Musgraves. If you like country, and you haven't listened to her, do it. Her songs are actually country, not poppy at all, and she's really good!
2. Go downtown Chicago
I live near the city, and I feel like I rarely go down there. So a couple friends and I planned a day down there to visit the museums and it was really fun. :]
1. Run a race
I've wanted to do this for so long, and I finally got my chance when a friend from college asked if I wanted to join her team. The run was about an hour and half away, but it was an absolute blast. We had color thrown on us throughout the race, and I think I did pretty good time wise too!
My summer list begins!
And any of the things that I haven't done from previous lists...
37. Go to a museum
This was actually on the list for either fall or winter, but I finally went down to the city and visited the Field Museum and the Shedd Aquarium, AND it was free.
36. Go on a picnic
I live by a lot of pretty forest preserves and picnic areas, so it's really easy to find a place to picnic. I invited a couple of friends and we each brought something to eat/drink and spent a couple hours outside.
