Do you happen to know, if I get the CE stories, but I don’t buy every heart choice while obtaining the stories, later when I’m playing, can I buy more heart choices and will they be unlocked forever in the CE? Or only the choices I make while earning the CE will stay unlocked?
Ah yes, so let me explain a little about how collector edition stories worked before and how they work now.
When Love Choice first started, for the first season of Masquerade Kiss they would actually award you the CE as a separate story that has its own page when you look at the list of available stories to read for the character. If you obtain the CE, then the heart choices that you bought from the normal story in your initial play through transfers over to the CE and stay unlocked. Then you would only buy and unlock the heart choices in the CE (because you would obviously reread the CE, not the normal story where you’d have to wait to read the chapters one by one). If you buy any heart choices in the normal story AFTER obtaining the CE, it will not transfer to the CE. On that same note, any new heart choices bought in the CE would not transfer over to the normal story either but they would stay unlocked in the CE once you buy them.
Unfortunately the only LC titles I have read are Masquerade Kiss, Romance MD, and Professional Boyfriend so I can’t confirm if any of the other older LC stories have the old story structure with separate CE. But for the titles I have read, they only did this with the first season of MK before switching to the new CE structure.
Moving on to how CE works now:
It’s different now because when you read the newer stories and get the CE, the normal story will automatically CONVERT into the CE and you will see that it says Collector’s Edition in a little box below the CG on the story page. So now you don’t even have to worry about which version of the story you’re reading when you’re buying heart choices. So going back to your question, yes once you get the CE the heart choices you chose in your initial play through will stay unlocked forever and you can always go back if you skipped over any of the heart choices once you get the CE. Any new heart choices you buy after getting the CE will stay unlocked for good. There is no worry about heart choices not staying unlocked because there’s only ONE version of the story now, which is the CE.
