"My dear Zinaida Sergeevna, thank you very much for your kind letter of 8/XI. It took 20 days to reach us. Long enough. I wrote to you on the 6th and then on the 19th (November). Did you receive these letters? We receive your letters. They have all arrived. Tell R. that Olga wrote to him twice and both times to Moscow at the address she gave us. I'm glad she's still at your place. I thank Dalechka for his letter. I will write to him separately. Did you forward my letter to Moussia? Did she receive it? I also recently injected arsenic into Olga. I remembered as R. [Margarita “Rita” Khitorovo, friend of Olga and Tatiana’s] had done it. In the evenings we all sit together. Some play bridge, while others work. Dad reads aloud. Sometimes he plays and someone else reads in his place. The other day we finished reading Memoirs of a Hunter from Turgenev. So well written and exciting. Sometimes I play the piano, but not much, because we hear it all over the house. It's been quite cold the last few days, but with a beautiful sun and incredible light on the mountains. Don't forget that you promised to send me a picture of all of you. Maybe it will happen? What do you think? I'm glad you met N.D. He is very kind and very funny. Have you ever seen N.V. Say hello to him for me if you write to him.
