That last fucking sentence.
Oooh oohh now study if pizza parties have any effect!
Workplace wellness initiatives that have worked for me:
My boss going for a swim at lunch every day
My boss arriving at 9 and leaving at 5.
My boss taking time to care for his kids.
My boss giving me infinite unpaid leave if I needed it when a close family member was seriously injured (I didn’t even use it, but knowing my position was safe was so helpful to my stress levels)
My boss making me cups of tea when he makes his own on a busy day.
My boss encouraging sick staff to go home and take sick leave rather then working from home.
Free fruit and nuts in the tea cupboard.
My boss organising a lunchtime stroll once a week. Non-compulsory and non-competitive.
I’m pretty sure only one of these cost the company more money than it saved. And that’s the food. It was less helpful than any of the others.
