I was watching The Untamed because I wanted to watch something in Chinese with my friend to see if they could understand enough and we could figure it out through context and the answer is no.

Also despite turning on subtitles and having some background knowledge we were both very confused.

So far we now understand that Wei wuxian is Jin Lings uncle and jiang cheng is Jin lings uncle and mo xuanyu is Jin Ling’s uncle and also Jin ling is really annoying.

Also apparently every clan is very convoluted but the purple wen clan is like evil?? Which they are all dead now so uhh or uhh

Also we thought the Jin clan and the Jiang clan were the same for two episodes
