Although it mightâve been a rhetorical question, Ty answered it anyway.  âYeahâŚit was hilarious.  You were all rules and regulations.  Me being a privateer, I was just barely skirting on the edges of the law back then.  You were so much fun to mess with.  Especially since I was working for England at the time, so we were technically on the same side.â  It almost didnât hurt to reminisceâŚnot with Johnâs double standing right there in front of him.  He had a chance to get back the man he lovedâŚhis mateâŚand he was trying so very hard to be rational.  It wasnât easyâŚand the dragon knew heâd already messed up by hurting the other manâŚby bringing him here.  But he had to try to make things right.
In the elevator, he stepped back, giving his one-time lover as much space as he could.  âIâŚ.Iâm sorryâŚfor hurting you.  Itâs just been so long since Iâve been outsideâŚaround humans.  I forgot how delicate your kind can beâŚIâŚI wonât forget again.  I promise.â  The elevator dinged, cutting off anything else he mightâve said, and the doors opened onto an elaborate rooftop greenhouse.  There were doors that lead to an outdoor terrace with tables and chairs and potted plants, but nearly the entire rooftop was glassed in, creating a humid, almost rainforested, environment.
Holding the door, Ty gestured for Jack to exit, and then joined him.  âIâŚI wish Iâd told you about this back then.  If I had, then maybeâŚâ  With a shudder the dragon shook his head, stepping away from the other.  âIâll need some space, so the safest thing for you to do once the transformation starts is to not move, alrightâŚ?  I donât want to accidentally strike you with my wings or my tailâŚâ  Warnings given, the red-head continued to back away.  He spent a lot of time here in his true form, so it wasnât too hard to judge how much room was needed.  And then he quickly began to shift.  Once Ty was fully shifted, he settled himself onto the ground, trying to appear as non-threatening as possible.
Jack didnât say anything as the man apologized to him, a bit of a frown pulling at his lips. He still didnât buy this dragon thing, so how could he buy the fact that he had âforgottenâ he was strong enough to hurt him? ...then again, heâd never seen anyone move quite so fast and to hit him hard enough to knock him unconscious.
His eyes widened slightly as the elevator opened onto a large greenhouse. It was amazing, really, imagining how much that had to have cost. He stepped out slowly, looking around an only giving the warning that the man gave him a slight thought.Â
And then movement caught his attention and he turned to watch the redhead, his eyes widening even more as the man changed. Changed so rapidly that in only a few moments there was a large scaled creature in his place. Jackâs jaw dropped, wide blue eyes just staring at the dragon. âImpossible,â he muttered. âI must have... I must have hit my head harder than I thought...â Except, he was fairly sure he hadnât... but this couldnât be real...
