New markers and new art! I'm really excited to do more
Girl Age
Girl Age on the sun boardwalk walking eye to eye, lips throat hands jangling change ringing bangles like dancing gypsies or flower flocks with golden cloth petals and emerald eyes. sweet noise, soured like broken stones apple cores bitten and brown from lacy smiles and dirt under fingernails and mudded knit scarves and buttermilk hands with pebbled button feet to smooth on the moon. rusted gears and worn with wisdom, flawless brittled sticks flayed for touching with eyes like silk coffee dyed to pale hands, eyelashed wrinkled tired shapes and make for the haste and the straw bed, strawberry.
Mermaid
oh sea braver lion tamer you found yourself a shell to crawl into and curl up next to your darling dear her words are near haunts him, loves him tells him theres the world to fear sweetheart, stay here but it’s wickedness that keeps you there that shell is cold with no door and empty words she thought were full
Misery
miserable I am, misery you make. my voice you press silent, my confidence you take. what use is speaking when you will not hear? my wisdom, it falls on your deaf ears.
One day when I die I will return to the ground and the sky and breath with the earth. My body will dissolve into the dirt and moss. I will at last be at peace. This soul tires of this busy world. I struggle to connect with what makes my spirit soar. I wish every day could be a moment overlooking a valley, or floating in a forest stream. When I die, if not in this life, my spirit will search for those places where the sounds of birds and water and wind will echo in my ears. The beauty of this world makes my heart swell, yet also ache with longing. I need to be reconnected to my human roots. One day when I die I will finally be joined with this world and sleep among those roots and rest at last.
Sometimes I get back into the groove I used to be in when I was in elementary school and it makes me the happiest person in the world. I used to draw after I got home from school for hours until I went to bed. I only had one friend and she was a lot like me. We would hang out and play Pokemon and draw together and watch anime and make frog houses in her backyard. I was lonely a lot, but I think it's important to be lonely to develop into who you want to be.
I used to draw and listen to beautiful music and I was always so happy just doing those two things. I used to be so inspired by books I was reading. I loved fantasy books and I'd listen to the same CDs on my Walkman over and over. I tried learning songs that were way out of my skill range on the piano, and sometimes I was successful and it was worth it to me. I could get lost in a story and become completely obsessed with an idea.
My dad commented once that it was probably not good to get obsessed with things, but now I miss being able to do that. I think some things kind of get worn out of you as you grow up. But lately I've been able to get back some of those moments of creativity and obsession and happiness. It's not the same, but I'm glad it's still there. I think that finding things to be passionate about is the way to have happiness. I want to pursue my passions and develop them into a reality.
These are works in progress! I'd like to eventually do sets like these for every class of animalia.

Forest
I want to be the mist that creeps through forests and the atmosphere that lies thick over ancient woods. I want to be the cedars that tower the earth and the damp mosses that cover their roots. I want to be the dark soil that feeds the trees and every creature that churns it and lives there. I want to be the dew in hidden grooves and every fern that drinks from it. I want to be the woods and see as the leaves do, ever changing yet remaining unchanged, enduring the cycles of life and possessing the wisdom of time.
