Tone, rhythm, pitch, theory and other music-related tests...
Just a collection of sites that people into music may enjoy or find useful. Some of the tests are just for fun, others are more scientific, others are learning tools. (Note: I haven’t tried all these yet, just making a list for future reference/anyone else interested).
+ http://www.tonometric.com/ This site has a range of tests for all different areas- rhythm, tone, visualisation, etc. Worth looking at. + http://www.nidcd.nih.gov/tunetest/pages/dtt.aspx Tests sense of pitch. Takes about 10mins, it says. + http://www.concerthotels.com/got-rhythm Quick, easy rhythm test. Explanation of the points system here. + http://www.audiocheck.net/blindtests_abspitch.php Perfect Pitch test. Also has a range of resources for testing your speaker quality and such. Basically, everything audio. Haven’t tried out the site myself, but seems like a good one. + http://perfectpitchtest.com/ Relative Pitch test and another Perfect Pitch test too. + http://www.teoria.com/exercises/measure.php Really good time signature/measure tests. Customisable. Give it a little bit to load. + http://www.zlab.mcgill.ca/supplements/AP_test.html Perfect Pitch again, but it’s a quick one. + http://www.absolutepitchstudy.com/test.html Perfect Pitch test, part of a study. + http://www.classicfm.com/discover/music/perfect-pitch-test/ Fun, quick, easy perfect pitch test from Classic FM. Good to kill a couple of minutes.
+ http://www.classicfm.com/discover/music/pass-gcse-music-quiz/ Another easy one from Classic FM- this one is more theory based, but you still need to listen to things. Here’s the much harder version: http://www.classicfm.com/discover/music-quizzes/a-level-music-quiz/
+ http://www.musictechteacher.com/music_quizzes/music_quizzes.htm Huge collection of test, quizzes and learning tools on a wide range of music skills for beginners and young learners. + https://www.musictheory.net/exercises Music theory! Looooads of tests on here for all kinds of musicians, as well as ear training. You can customize your exercises too. Also exists as an app. + http://www.musictheoryhelp.co.uk/practice-papers/ Practice papers from UK music theory tests. Covers grades 1-8. + http://www.musicalmind.org/ More ear training. You can choose between interval training, melody training, harmony training, atonal training, etc as well. + http://www.easyeartraining.com/ear-trainer/ Ear training tests, exercises and apps. Has stuff that is instrument specific too (even percussion). +http://www.easyeartraining.com/learn/guest-post-solfeggio-and-ear-training-shelle-soelberg/ Info about ear training and solfeggio (’do re mi fa’ etc) from the same site as above. Apparently they will design a free course for you, though I haven’t looked into it. + http://makingmusicmag.com/ear-training-test-relative-pitch/ The quiz link is dead at the time of posting, but has some interesting info about perfect pitch, relative pitch and ear training. Message me if you know of something that would be really good to add! Enjoy! ^_^
Add teoria.com to that. It teaches basic and fairly advanced theory in both English and Spanish

Thoughts on ligatures?
I’ve used a Bay for years and I love it! Plus it’s super pretty - I always get compliments on how it looks. :)
A beautiful way to end the season!
I’m happy, I’m positive, I’m optimistic, and I’m depressed.
“Depression is a war within your own mind and it feels as though you are constantly losing.”
So festive.

An open letter to those who think being a music major is easy. Please read and retweet!!!
I love when my mommy posts stuff like this. <3
One of the most realistic depictions of clinical depression on TV. If you don’t watch this show you should. It it truly fantastic
Clarinet: flat
Me: *pushes in as far as it can go*
Clarinet: still flat
Me: what do you want from me
