For ‘Transform Your City,' Making Space collaborated with Hato Press, a risograph publisher from London, in an attempt to create a new way to communicate how spectacular Dublin City has become. They chose to record and document Dublin, as seen through the eyes of its inhabitants, using twitter, storytelling and risograph printing. Making Space, combined photos of the city with crowd-sourced tweets about Dublin, to produce freely available posters in Temple Bar. ‘Transform Your City’ was an opportunity to push the boundaries and explore ways to engage with the diverse communities that visit Temple Bar through this unusual poster printing workshop. Making Space curated this event, which put the power into the hand of the people who participated in the project. There is a vibrancy and palpable energy on the streets of Temple Bar and this project aimed to capture this energy. Throughout the day, drawings, comments and tweets were accumulated from Dubliners and the posters were re-imagined and then re-circulated almost like a live feed commentary or real-time storytelling about Dublin. This event was realised with the kind assistance of Al Higgins, Fuchsia MacAree and Comtec and was organised in association with OFFSET Dublin’s Creative Festival and Absolut.
