So, they had heard him. An unfortunate outcome, as he had expected to make his observations without being figured out as a result. He let out a small sigh, figuring it would be no use to remain hidden away and increase the tension in the atmosphere if he wasn’t there to actually kill anyone. Most of his features remain hidden underneath his hood, safe for burning brown hues still examining them while slowly closing the distance between them. 

He held his hands up close to his chest in a soft motion that he meant no harm. Although, the gesture only lasted so long before his hands instinctively rested back onto his belts, fingers trailing along the blade of his daggers, ready to be thrown given the outcome.

As the shaded figure revealed themself and began to approach Veperine, she lifted her shoulders and pointed her chin downwards, eyes narrowed. Studying their movements and posture, the battlemage gave a smirk at their gesture. She couldn’t help but be on the defensive, too, and she couldn’t blame this stranger for being on guard as well.

She, too, began to slowly approach, in an attempt to study the figure better, while keenly watching the stranger’s daggers, but then she halted to avoid getting too close. They both had to be careful...after all.

“...What are you doing, hiding over there like that for?” she finally asked. “One might think you’re aiming to catch a kill.” Her red eyes glistened with curiosity.

He watches them from a distance, curious, but hesitant.

Veperine quietly halted in her tracks. Something felt off, as if there were eyes on her. It made her feel tense and apprehensive, as she slowly turned her head to get a good look at her surroundings. Though she couldn’t see anyone from where she was standing, she definitely felt a presence.

Quietly, to herself, the woman spoke, “Show yourself. I know you’re there...”
