“Hmm? oh yeah, she just kicked me good in the ribs. She’s very active. Doctor says that’s a good thing.” She finished off her fries and grinned, “Hmm that was yummy~!”
He winced, smiling lightly. “I can only imagine what that must feel like to you.” He chuckled and also finished off the rest of his food. “It was! I have got to come back here their burgers are amazing.” He got up to throw out their trash and returned, resting against the table. “Thanks for having lunch with me.”

Layla looked at him before smiling, shaking her head slightly. “you’ve always been there for me. You have been too good to me. You know that?” She said, rubbing her stomach, grinning, “You’ll visit when the baby is born right? She’s just gotta meet one of the best people in my life.” Layla started sipping on her drink, making a scrunched up face. “owh”
He looked bashfully at the table, sighing softly. He still felt like he wasn’t there for her enough. “Of course, I wouldn’t miss for the world.” He crossed his heart and finished off the rest of his burger. He tilted his head, “you okay?”
Old Friends
“I’ve got to find baby names. Won’t be long till she’s here. If you ever have suggestions. Send them my way. I’m horrible with naming things.” She shook her head, nibbling on a fry. “I mean. I named my dog Strawberry.”
“Oh yeah, totally.” He chuckled, standing up, and returned to his food. “Mmm….well I’m not really good with names either.” He confessed, prodding one of the fries into a cup of ketchup. “Kinda…weird to think that you’ll be giving a name to that kid and it’s gonna be her name for the rest of her life…”
“It’s kinda weird all together.” Layla mumbled, rubbing her neck. “I never thought about becoming a mom. Too many…” She looked away, biting on her lower lip. “Too many mental issues right now. The doctor told me my depression is what he worries about the most. He, uh, “She gulped at the thought, shifting in her seat before nibbling a fry.” He wants to keep me for about a week. To make sure I don’t..fall into any depression after the baby is born. He says many single mother’s do. They get all happy and excited that “hey! my baby is here!” Then they realize they don’t have ‘someone’ to share this babies moment with. But, I have many people to share them with. I mean, I have so many friends.”
He listened to her quietly, chewing absentmindedly at his food in thought. He looked up as she finished, giving her a small comforting smile. “You’re right...you do. You won’t be alone in this and...if you ever do feel like you’re alone just contact me and I’ll be by your side like that.” He snapped his fingers for emphasis and grinned. “I promise.”
Old Friends
“Really…?”
“…” He felt extremely comforted by those words for some reason.
“Well…th-that’s great. I’m glad she likes me then…heh.” He rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

Layla took a deep breath, looking at him. “She likes you. She doesn’t kick for everyone. She’ll usually stop after a hand is placed. SHe doesn’t even kick for my mom.” She giggled, “She’s kicked only for a few people. And food. Always kicking for food.”
“Really...?”
“...” He felt extremely comforted by those words for some reason.

“oh really? What’s the business?” She asked before squeaking slightly and grinning, “H-hey. She’s moving. Do, do you wanna feel?” She asked, rubbing her stomach. She looked at him wtih excited eyes. Slightly bouncing in her seat.
He blinked, caught off guard for a second, “Wh -- ?? Oh the baby? uhhh...” he fidgeted a little, nervous. “I don’t know if I sh-...er...well...o-okay?” He moved around the table and hesitantly reached out, carefully, and very gently, laying a hand over her stomach. “..!!.....Oh....w-wow...” he breathed feeling the light movements underhand.
*puts the boxes down*
so…need more help?
Uhh...well, I just have a coupla more boxes in the back of the truuuck, so if you wanna help that’s cool... -thinks for a moment- Do you want some lemonade or something
What a rood Anon. I'm reading your tags. I bet you'd be great with a baby. But take your time. A lot of this is overwhelming. For her and you. And it's great you'll still be there for her. She'll need it. you're a great guy. And don't feel cheated on. She feels horrible for even doing it. It eats away at her. Or so she's said. You do you.
heh, i guess you have more confidence in mean then i have in myself. Thanks…
who's quinn???

“I am starving. And so is she. She’s been doing flips in my stomach since I sat down!.” SHe smiled, taking her own burger and taking little bites. She was never a fast eater. Very timid and slow. Taking time to eat and make it last. “So, what are you going to be doing here? besides ya know. Still moving in and such?”
“Aww, poor thing...” he smiled lightly, eating his food more quickly than she. He paused to give some thought to her question. “Well I’m gonna either get some courses done at community college, try to get a job...ya know...Hydie’s actually looking to start a business or somethin’ so I’ll probably be helping her with that...”
