Teaching aperture (see #2 ) #cameralesson Monday at 11am. Morning is definitely the best time in Summer to get outside with your camera - especially in the village square at #glendaleohio . Aperture is complicated- it changes drastically with lens, zoom, distance. But I show how easy it can be with 3 simple tricks to blur the background. 📷 STEP 1 - zoom all the way! 55mm with this lens. 📷 STEP 2 Get close with this lens! Did you know this 18-55 mm kit lens will focus as close as just a few inches??? So get in there! 📷 STEP 3 - Aperture Priority Mode (A or AV) with lowest number. The bee in Photo #2 was captured with my D500, 70-200 f4 Nikon full frame lens but you could easily get the same look with kit 300mm lens, especially Nikon’s AF-P series lenses on a current SLR body - Just set mode to A. AF-P and AF/M lenses let you tweak focus without changing any buttons.
