not to be the friend that’s too woke but has anyone else noticed that people tend to draw arthur white and of short or average height, and john dark-skinned and physically larger?

idk guys it just sort of feels like we’re making the monster poc and his (sometimes romantic) partner small and white….. maybe we should all take a look at what we’re doing here.

and i am NOT saying to make them both white. that’s not a solution. just…. let’s play around with some other interpretations. make arthur black and john kind of pallid and blond, that could be neat! make arthur chinese and john greek. there are genuinely so many more options than white arthur and poc john. step into a wonderful world with me where we stop doing this, because even though it’s not intentional, it is racist.

also, if anyone comes at me with “historical accuracy” and “arthur didn’t experience racism in the podcast so he’s probably white” or to tell me arthur was confirmed white somewhere or anything along those lines, i’m going to be mad. it’s a fucking podcast we never got any canon appearances!!! please for the love of god diversify your character design and STOP defaulting to black or brown when you want to make someone monstrous or inhuman. good grief.
