What do you like about me?
The princess fought back a smile as her eyes spotted the vampire. For some reason, she was feeling rather happy about seeing him again. But as most of the time, Bubblegum found herself pretending. Before greeting the vampire, she crossed her arms in front of her chest. “Hey.” Bubblegum tried to make the word come out with a somewhat serious tone of voice.
「✝」 "Bonnibel." He addressed the princess with a fake half-bow. That evening, Marshall Lee decided to intrude into the castle that day for no real reason-- just that he had nothing to do. He was mildly surprised he wasn't shoo'ed away instantly and was, instead, greeted casually. Her arms were crossed and her voice was a little shaky, probably because she was trying to be Ms. Serious-Pants. Seriously, that girl needed to learn to relax.
"How are you handling your duties here?" A grin was present as he spoke. "I imagine it's nothing you can't handle."
☢
☢: Several licks on your ear.
「✝」 He held his hands up menacingly as he advanced nearer and nearer to his twin, "Here I come!"
A swift tackle and they both fell to the ground-- hard. (Hey, they were rulers of the vampires-- they can do pretty much anything! So taking a few bruises from wrestling here and there is something they can manage.) The two became a tangle of giggling limbs, fighting to see who could dominate the other. There was only one rule they were dictated by: they had to remain in humanoid form. Just as Marshall Lee expected (and much to the disdain of his female counterpart), he pinned Marceline to the ground and emerged victorious.
The laughter stopped abruptly and they both focused on regaining their breath. Honestly... it was awkward. He couldn't decide whether he should get up or continue wrestling with her. It was during the awkward tension that Marshall Lee came up with an idea. Still straddling the Queen, the King descended on her until his mouth was directly next to her ear.
Extending his tongue, he swept it across her earlobe with cautiousness. He might have won against her in a friendly wrestling contest, but who knows what might happen if she decided to morph into a tentacle monster and beat him up? Garnering no action that proved she was uncomfortable with it, the warm muscle then glided up and down along the edge of her pointed ear. He press his fangs against the soft skin and felt Marceline shift under him, probably ready to bite back if he bit her.
So he laughed right into her ear.
"How was that?"

「✝」 Despite the lingering damage to his cheek meat, he landed on his feet and laughed obnoxiously as if it never happened. He placed his hands on her lower back, whisking the blonde towards him.
"You're not getting away that easy." He brushed the long tresses of blonde hair away from her face with his fingers and rested firmly on her cheek. His face hovered directly in front of hers-- he was just teasing her now-- but, there was just no way the king was going to let her run off with a kiss that lasted an underwhelming three seconds and ended with a punch.
Before she could do anything about it, he swooped down, capturing her lips in a gentle kiss. It was only slightly longer than the last one, but it was enough to satisfy Marshall Lee. Pulling away, he stopped to admire the lovely shade of red that stained her cheeks.
Licking his lips, he shifted his hand to her shoulder and leaned forward again, brushing his fangs against her cheek tantalizingly-- but he didn't bite. If Cake or Prince Gumball saw those marks, he'd never hear the end of it. He closed his mouth and pressed his lips against her cheek before pulling away one last time.
A toothy grin stretched across his face, "Are you going to punch me in the kisser again?"

Humming to herself, she at the same time her hand pet the kitty softly and gently. Her blue orbs casted over to Marshall Lee who already began with a melodic tone which Fionna’s ears have been accustomed to. She paid no attention to his lyrics, however once the third to the last sentence was recited, her competitive edge fueled up. Creasing her brows, she frowned and closed her fist into a tight ball after putting the monokitty aside.
“I choose dare.”
Curling her fist up into a ball, she smacked it repeatedly against the palm of her hand and scowled at Marsh. If he wanted to play rough, so was she. Deemed the most heroic and daring figure of all the land, Fionna had to step up to her title. “Don’t think you can beat me. I’m the real deal here!” Her competitive side was unfolding. She could choose to keep her calm and allow the vampire to give her a dare. But her mindset just wasn’t functioning the way it usually did in the heat of these type of moments.
「✝」 Of course Fionna of all people would pick dare-- there was no reason to think otherwise. Maybe his comment on the chance of her losing edged her competitive spirit on-- that's alright, it wouldn't be fun otherwise. But... he said he'd go easy on her for the first turn or so... even though his human companion looked pumped and ready to take on anything he threw at her. The enthusiastic way she smacked her fist against her palm made it seem like she was ready to take on a baddie.
"Well now, aren't we brave? Careful now, you'll dig your grave."
If Fionna was going to make him sing, then he might as well make her do something like that too. There was one thing Marshall Lee will never let her live down, even though he never openly mocked her about it. He'll just never forget the moment he popped into her memory bubble and witnessed the little dance and song Fionna did when she was a baby.
"Sing the song from when you were young, About killing witches and punching their buns. If you can do that, you can dare me, To do your whim without a fee."

Fionna’s hand stroked the pillow, the soft texture pleasing her easily. Her sleeping bag couldn’t compare to this pillow’s smooth fabric. The tomboy tapped her chin for a short minute while asking herself what Marshall would hate to do or admit. Knowing Marshall, he would have probably chosen dare. He always was one for the risky junk.
“Alrighty! I dare you to…” And it seemed she knew him quite well, ever since the incident with her and Cake invading “his” tree house. The dare she was going to give him didn’t necessarily have to be something that haunted him. It could’ve been something to easily embarrass him whereas he did to her so many times.
“I dare you to sing everything you say, and it has to rhyme for the next two turns!” Being the goody-two shoes Fionna was, it wasn’t in her heart to go and hamper Marshall…yet. She reclined and leaned back upon the couch’s arm, allowing the monokitty to continue its slumber. Her hand caressed its fur as she waited for Marshall to sing.
「✝」 She wasn't going to pull out the big guns yet-- which was fine, but this dare was way too easy for the Vampire King. He was a composer! He pretty much rhymed without thinking about it-- not to mention that Marshall Lee had the perfect accessory for this dare: his axe-guitar. He pulled the guitar over his shoulder so it rested in his knees comfily and began strumming a gentle tune, careful not to rouse the monokitties. Along with that, he sang in a hushed tone:
"Good little girl, are you trying at all? At this rate, you'll be the first to fall."
Rhyming was basically a second nature to the singer now, and this could hardly count as a dare. But if they were going to start things off easy like this, he'll be sure not to pick on Fionna too hard... not yet, at least.
"It's your turn now-- I'll try to be fair-- Do you pick truth or do you pick dare?"
A Test of Strength||malosovobiscum
“Truth or dare?”
Fionna laid down near Lord Mono’s couch, asked to babysit the monokitties asked by Cake. It was no problem hanging out with the children, but it did get lonely during the whole day. To fix that, she called up PG. Except, he was occupied with Candy Kingdom duties. The last person she relied on was Marshall Lee, and fortunately enough, he was able to make it to the house, or farm as it appears to be.
Now that the monokitties are sound asleep, Fionna chose to play a game with Marsh. Truth or dare. It was a risky game enough to fit her type: Risky but fun. She may have been a goody two shoes, however she knew she would have to accept any dare or truth given.
“Choose.”
「✝」 Since he really had nothing better to do, Marshall Lee decided to heed to his blonde friend's request and spend time with her while she watched over her cat's children. He couldn't help but marvel over the litter of sleeping monokitties-- just how did a unicorn and a cat even make this happen?
Fionna joined him on the couch and suddenly brought up a game of Truth or Dare. It was out of the blue, but definitely something entertaining to do. Needless to say, the nightosphere heir was intrigued, and couldn't help but smile smugly at the suggestion.
"Whoa, whoa, back up there, Fi. Are you sure you want to challenge this bad boy to a game of truth or dare?" It only took him one glance to know she was positive. Evidently, he wasn't one to back off from a challenge, "Fine... I'll go with... dare."

Marceline sat on one side of the fire - she wasn’t cold but the flickering dance was fairly comforting. She watched the flames as her opposite began talking about his Ice Queen. She aged nice huh? She kind of wanted to see the woman, after all…
“Simon looks… bad” she responded, “And pathetic and lonely”
“He drops by to see me every once in awhile” she tore her eyes away from the flames to look off at the Ice mountains in the distance, “Not me, me. But the Finn and Jake’s friend and bass player me”.
It hurt - knowing he didn’t remember her. Even when the clues were so obviously there - even when she held the evidence in his face and screamed the facts at him - it just went over his head.
She looked at Marshall Lee, frowning.
“Do you ever feel…” she shook her head - hesitating, “Is it selfish of me to want him to remember me even when he can’t remember himself?”
She hugged her knees to her chest, gripping her ankles and rocking back and forth absently.
“I did my best to stay away from Simon after… but he always finds me and I don’t know if I should be angry or glad”
She wanted to ask Marshall Lee about his feelings but it seemed her timeline was a bit ahead of his - where she had already had so many encounters with Simon recently, it seemed the Vampire King hadn’t really had any with his Simone.
She thought back to what he said about his version of Simon and how she had aged well and was all over Gumball.
“Does she seduce them or something?” she tried to imagine Simon trying to seduce someone - but it was a laughable sight. That man was so insecure and off his rocker that the thought of seducing a Princess probably never even occurred to him.
「✝」 He didn't say a word until Marceline was done. Even though he had a lot to say in return, he just felt like it would be better to hear her through to the end. From what he gathered, Marceline seemed to have more experiences with the Ice King than he had with the Ice Queen. He hasn't seen Simone in a long, long time-- unless you counted catching glimpses of her flying across Ooo in search of babes.
Pathetic and lonely... that was a pretty good summary of the Ice Queen's existence right there. Even with all the penguins she surrounded herself with, she sought companionship with desperateness. There was a slight pang of jealousy when Marceline mentioned that the Ice King visited her, but he resumed staring at his twin in melancholy when she mentioned he visited her to see the "bass player" her, not the real her. She's been forgotten too, and he understood that feeling painfully well.
"Well, at first it goes alright... but then they see how crazy she really is and they run away screaming. So what does the Ice King do to get his ladies? Lock them up in his tower?" He laughed-- not because it was funny, but because it was mockably sad. "And... I don't think it's selfish of you to want him to remember you. I... feel the same. Sometimes I wish I could gather the balls to see Simone, but she doesn't even know who I am at this point." And, to put it simply, he felt... bad... guilty whenever someone even mentioned the Ice Queen. If he saw her in person, he might just have a nervous breakdown.
"If I were you," and they really were the same person, "I would be pretty ticked off about him coming to visit me when he doesn't even know who I am." The nerve of that jerk-- He wouldn't lay a finger on the Ice Queen, but that didn't mean he couldn't whoop the Ice King's butt for being so insensitive.
"Gonna be honest... I get freaked when I think about seeing Simone." He mumbled, staring emptily at the flames and fiddling with his bangs. "I mean... I guess I feel guilty about not being able to save her in the end. She's always been there for me, but... now..." The vampire gnawed on his lower lip, unsure of how to phrase things. "... now I can't really be there for her, can I?"
「✝」 Oh man, did he say too much? He probably did— he noticed the way Fionna slouched right before he started talking. She must have anticipated the load of junk he was going to start spouting. Out of everybody in Aaa, Fionna knew him best— and she definitely knew he had a tendency of being motormouthed. It was practically imbued into his very nature.
Again, Fionna’s reaction was a mystery to him. Would she take it seriously?… Maybe she’d play it off as a joke— in fact, they guy almost hoped she would take it as a joke. Glob, letting her see him cry about his mom was embarrassing enough… why’d he have to go and unleash all this feelings junk on her?
“Marshall, you really think I’m going to just drop everything and run off?”
Well, if she did that (not that Marshall Lee thought she would), she definitely wouldn’t get far— nobody could hide from the Vampire King.
“You’re one of my best guy friends, man. You can’t forget that, and no way in the name of glob will I forget you. Of course I will have other friends but there’s always going to be you. We’re bros ‘till the end.”
Now, the vampire had the urge to smile really, really hard, yet he pursed his lips together to hold it back. He was afraid his face might become a permanent smile— or worse, Fionna would tease him about it. With immaculate speed, Marshall Lee chose to hide the growing, dorky grin by hooking the blonde into a sudden headlock and pulling off her bunny hood, leaving it hanging loosely around her neck. Then, he eagerly gave her a noogie, making a mess of her hair. “Gee, Fi. You’re making me blush over here!”
His face felt warm and tingly— maybe he was blushing, or maybe he was just smiling too hard. Whatever it was, he couldn’t tell, he just proceeded to vigoriously rub his knuckles against her scalp while cackling. Satisfied with his work, he let go of her, his face shifting back to the trademark grin he’s given Fionna countless times before. “Heheh. Bros for life, then? That sounds… good.” He delivered a playful punch to her arm, “Then I’ll be here for you until the very end, alright? It’s a vampire promise.”
The awkward silence between them roamed about as she tapped her fingers lightly against each other. It feels as if they kept repeating this situation over and over again to the point where it can get tiring. Clenching her fists, her voice raised into a higher volume to grasp his attention. “Spit it out, Marsh! If you have anything more to say, just tell me!”
Impatience was only shown if she really was anticipating for an answer. Her nature was one who was kind to others, unlike Marshall’s demeanor. A sly, teasing vampire who was like a wall: hard to read and get through to. These two personalities’ just couldn’t quite match. Hence, always triggering an argument with words or having a never ending war because they held equal strength. Lying would be meaningless, because she was like a transparent wall. She knew he would win her anytime he wanted, but she would never succumb to him. One day, maybe today or tomorrow, she’ll have her victory.
The exact minute Fionna allowed her guard to drop was when Marshall snaked his arm around her neck, seized and helpless. The strength of his arm was monstrous and with countless struggles and shoving, his arm was as sturdy as ever.
“You dingus, no! Ack—you’re choking me!” Her hat slipped only to remain wrapped around her neck. His knuckles rubbed against hers and once he finished off with a punch, Fionna delivered another mighty strike to his arm.
“Then I’ll be here for you until the very end, alright? It’s a vampire promise.”
“Vampire promise.”
She then grabbed his wrist and forcefully wrapped his pinky around hers. “I hero promise that we’ll be bros forever, and if anything happens, we’ll still always kick butt forever because that’s what friends do.”
You sir have an extreme lack of Butts in your life!! YOU DESERVE MORE BUTTS!!!
「✝」 "You know what...? You're right!"
"I'll make sure to visit the Butt Kingdom as soon as I can."
Fionna held no sympathy for the immortal being, brushing her hands after she shoved him away. Apologizing to him was among her list of, “No-No’s,” for sorry thoughts were going to be saved for later. Watching Marshall recline into a cozy position made her want to go sit down on the fresh patches of grass, gazing up at the stars. But that’d be plain cliche when she could be out doing something way more fun.
The bunny observed his smirk curving into a frown, clearly stating he wasn’t so passionate about the whole idea of him and Gumwad—Gumball being precisely equal. If you think about it, whenever the prince was around with the king, the two of them never gave the impression of being close friends to Fionna. In fact, there hasn’t been a day she saw them getting along, similar to how Cake and she did.
“Mean the same thing? Is there something you’re trying to tell me? Just spit it out, Marshall. I don’t want you hiding things from me.” Entirely oblivious to his emotions, she was instantly confused about the whole topic. It was mind-boggling whether he wanted to be above the candy prince or if he favored being someone she only talked to once in a while. She sulked at the thought of Marshall being sick of her punches and friendship, slouching at once.
“I mean, you’re a real unique chick to me. I can’t say there’s anyone else in all of AAA that I feel the same way for. So telling me I’m just one of your two best buddies makes me sound kind of… forgettable.”
“Marshall, you really think I’m going to just drop everything and run off? You’re one of my best guy friends, man. You can’t forget that, and no way in the name of glob will I forget you.” The way he said that sentence…it sounded like he had emotions other than his sly and playful demeanor. “Of course I will have other friends but there’s always going to be you,” reminded Fionna. “We’re bros ‘till the end.”
「✝」 Oh man, did he say too much? He probably did-- he noticed the way Fionna slouched right before he started talking. She must have anticipated the load of junk he was going to start spouting. “Why, isn’t it Vampire dude,”
“Yeah, sweetie. Lord Monochromicorn and I had a litter a few weeks ago. How’d ‘ya hear about it?”
「✝」 He snorted, "Of course I'd hear about it-- I'm Marshall Lee. I know everything!"
In all honesty, Fionna told him, but Cake didn't need to know that.
“I better not tell you, it might…spread.”
「✝」 Marshall Lee snickered ceaselessly, "Heh. I'll hand it to you, Fi-- that's a good one."
"But don't take my word for it, I'm known to be kind of... batty."
