“ I know it makes no sense and then there is Alaric who is the sweetest person ever and I hurt him by telling him I had feelings for Gizmo and it’s just been a lot.” He sighed “ And then Rita has been making it seems like I’m just moving around guys and breaking hearts.”
“You told him the truth. You can’t feel bad about that,” Molly stressed, reaching out to grab her brother’s arm and bring him back down to earth. “If you were lying, that would be a different story.” At the mention of Rita, she sighed softly. The girl seemed to cause nothing but trouble. “Relationships take two people and adding a third party doesn’t make them any easier ever. I’m sure if faced with evaluating my relationship with Kingsley, she would have a lot of not nice things to say, but Kingsley and I are happy. You deserve to be happy.”
Ted had noticed Molly zone out a little while ago in their little study group, if it were just the two of them he would’ve just stopped and ask her what was wrong but they were in a group of five. As the session came to a close and the others started to pack up Ted stayed put. “I was just saying do you want to grab a coffee now that the study group is over?” As the other three left the room he smiled at Molly “Whats up Molly? Are you okay?”
Molly breathed a sigh of relief once she realized she hadn’t disturbed the group after all. “I’ll be okay,” Molly promised, running a hand over her face. “Family drama. I’m sure you’ve heard the rumors about Gideon.” Ted was a fellow older sibling so she knew he would know what she was going through, even though Elizabeth was seemingly an absolute angel.
He shook his head. “I’ve never thought you were annoying. I mean, sometimes, maybe a little bossy, but you’re not annoying. We all can be a little bossy. Your brother and I have butt heads once or twice. I’m more fond of you, honestly.”
Molly could understand why Barty wouldn’t get along with one of her brothers. She beamed at his words before thanking him again for another compliment. “You know how to make a girl feel better when she’s down.”
He sighed running his hands over his face. He was stupid and he knew what she wanted to talk about. “ It’s not a big deal, really.” He said looking down at the floor. “ Alaric broke up with me, because Gizmo is in love with me…. and I’m in love with him too,but Giz says he doesn’t want to be my friend anymore.”
Molly furrowed her brow in confusion. “He doesn’t want to be your friend anymore? Because you two have feelings for one another? That doesn’t make sense. You should be wanting to pursue those feelings, not throw a wonderful friendship away!”
“Herman is doing so well.” A smile appeared on Tilden’s face. “I was examining him this morning and he’s almost full grown, now. I feel like a proud father.” He chuckled, but he really did feel as if his flitterbloom plant was his child.
“They grow up so fast,” Molly sighed before letting out a light chuckle. “I would trust you with any living thing, Tilden. Can I contract you now for babysitting?” She teased.
Lily had never had much trouble sleeping in the past—in fact she often prided herself for her ability to fall asleep just about anywhere—but lately she seemed to be really struggling to fall into a comfortable sleep, so that’s how she found herself at the top of the Astronomy Tower just after midnight, sat cross legged behind the railing. It was late enough that she doubted anyone else would be out for a wander at this time, but that thought quickly vanished when she heard footsteps coming up the stairs beside her. Instinctively her fingers itched towards her wand which was currently tucked behind her ear as she turned to see who had joined her, “Curfew was more than three hours ago, how come you’re out of your common room so late?”
“What’s a secret between prefects?” Molly teased before looking over the railing onto the grounds in front of them. “Besides, if someone finds us, we can say that we’re doing rounds, looking for students who are doing exactly what we’re doing.” Molly paused for a moment before smiling over at Lily. “Couldn’t sleep?”
He nodded. “Makes sense. You just have to get him to talk to you, I guess. I mean, you’re pretty strong-willed.If anyone can get him to talk to them, my guess is, it would be you.”
Molly couldn’t help but smile. It was an expected compliment, after all. “Thank you. My brothers seem to think that I’m at the point of annoying, though,” she chuckled.
Gideon wish he could disappear or the ground would open up and swallow him to escaped Molly and her stare. He didn’t know what she wanted him to say and the more they stared the more uncomfortable he got. “ Molls, say something.”He said after a while in distress.
Molly heard the plea and didn’t want to make her brother feel forced into speaking, but she thought a little guidance into telling her what she wanted to know didn’t hurt either. “I think that you should probably start talking. All I’ve been hearing is what everyone else has to say and I’d like to hear it from the source.”
He nodded. “Yeah, I heard it. I mean, I don’t buy into all of it, but I’ve heard it.” Barty didn’t have siblings of his own, but he knew she cared about him. He and Gideon hadn’t always gotten along. “Well have you tried to find him, to see if maybe he needs to talk?”
“When I have seen him, it’s as though he’s avoiding me, which just makes it more and more difficult,” Molly responded with a frown. “It hurts, but I know that he’s also hurting, you know?”
“Probably not. In folklore, it may seem intriguing because it can help you out of a situation, but if you looked hard enough, you could probably find some good magic to help you in whatever you find yourself in.”
“I’ll have to pass on that kind offer, besides, you’d miss spending time with whatever you name them. Anyway, aren’t mothers always saying that the enjoyable years when they’re tiny go by fast, wouldn’t want you to miss that.” He offered as a rather roundabout way of saying he’d rather do just about anything that could and would get him out of watching anyone’s kid. A small chuckle left him a moment later when he heard her, “I’m sure the centaur would be forever grateful for your help, you’re quite the saint Molly.” He joked slightly.
“They go by so fast because you barely get the opportunity to sleep,” Molly pointed out, having been around for her brothers growing up. She could only imagine that she would in fact feel the way that Mundungus was describing, but twins were a lot of work. Friends or older siblings babysitting always helps. “Maybe that’s why I’m a Gryffindor,” Molly teased in return.
“that is very true. also, hiding from us is nearly impossible, we know him very well… i could say i know him better than i know myself even.” fabian spoke, nodding shortly. “i can make it if you don’t want to… or we could make the cake together…” he replied with a shrug following the words, he’d gotten pretty good at making sandwiches so far, cakes couldn’t be that hard to make.
Molly couldn’t help but chuckle at the comment about their twin relationship before shaking her head lightly. With a tilt of her head, she silently considered what would happen if Fabian took over cake making and in the back of her mind, it didn’t look pretty. “That can be a part of the family bonding!” She suggested.

“Mrs. Weasley!” Molly heard the call before she saw the boy. Still a teen, but almost a young man standing in front of her. She had truly known him only a few years, but she had really known him all of his life and then some since he was the perfect combination of Lily and James Potter.
Before she could respond, Harry cut in to tell her what was on his mind. “Look what Sirius showed me!” He exclaimed with just as much enthusiasm. Sirius Black. This could’ve been a trick. Molly Weasley was a mother of mostly boys now so Sirius Black didn’t worry her anymore. She took the piece of paper from the boy and she felt her heart drop.
It was a picture that brought back so many memories.
Her fingers moved from left to right, taking in all the memories. The first people she encountered, sadly, were her deceased brothers. The first of many heartbreaks in this lineup. Their passing tugged at her heart strings every day, but she saw so much of them in her own twins.
Lily and James. Molly looked up from the snapchat to see Harry’s excitement. Any glimpse of his parents was enough for him. The matriarch desperately wished that she had tales to tell the boy about his parents, but the truth was that their friendship was just starting to bloom when they met their demise. Lily was a new mother and it seemed that there was one true maternal figure that came to mind. Molly and Lily had exchanged letters, mostly about their children, and they had plans once they could come out hiding... but that never came. It was a whole other wave of emotions when Ron wrote back home to let his mother know that it was the infamous Harry Potter they had helped to Platform 9 3/4 that day at the train station.
Molly couldn’t help the light snicker at the younger Dumbledore and Hagrid. They had all aged since this was taken, but the memory was still amusing.
Alice and Frank Longbottom came into view next. She knew that they weren’t gone, but they may as well have been. Molly felt her heart break whenever she would suggest that Neville come to the Burrow along with Harry and hear Ron refuse since Neville was “the weird kid.” Molly visited a lot at first. Really, she did. The Healers tried to tell her that it was no use. They didn’t even know their own child. Molly stopped visiting once Gilderoy joined the ward. It hurt too much the first time he didn’t recognize his old friend.
In her mind, it was as though red exes were marking out all of the people who were gone, but not forgotten, and it only left a few. That was when Molly remembered they were all in the next room. She handed the photograph back to Harry and thanked him before stealing a much needed hug. Taking a deep breath, she ventured down the hallway of 12 Grimmauld Place. There was an Order meeting taking place and not many people noticed her entrance, but one did. She wrapped an arm around him and an unsuspecting Remus before planting a kiss on each of their temples. Resting her head on Sirius’ shoulder, she looked over at Kingsley and gave him a knowing smile before catching Arthur’s worried eye and giving him a nod that she was alright before wiping the tear away that had welled up.
Gideon eyes widen as she spoke louder, he glanced around the library was people started to stare. He grabbed her arm pulling her from the library. “ Calm down Molls. I’m sorry.” He said once they were outside.
Molly allowed herself to be dragged out of the library and continued to keep her arms crossed, waiting for Gideon to start explaining himself. There was no verbal cue. She simply stared at him with a look that probably came off as start talking or else.
