his first iteration, from when i first got into splatoon. He was an original species i had made based on eels! I feel incredibly embarrassed thinking back to this…gulps loudly. In this first version, he was a sort of odd and quaint fellow that had generally kept quiet. He was named Martin at the time, in reference to Dean Martin…for my own reasons
the next version i had made came about during a manic episode when i was 16. In a way, he was a vent. I felt like a horrible person that should die, so to cope i made myself into a manic persona where my most horrid traits were idealized as an aesthetic. Likewise, he was based on the music i listened to most at this time…so a lot of blues rock…
Deviating from Splatoon, it feels integral to mention Raegan Martin Rust. One of my most dear ocs. I think every version of the character I had made when I was 14 was made for me to live vicariously through. Raegan was the most natural evolution of the original, quaint Martin. He first came about in a Fullmetal Alchemist au of my splatoon ocs that I later turned into a pseudo 1920s murder mystery. I hesitate to talk about it online now, for if I do ever write it I fear it may be the most dear story to me.
Ach, my dear boy…you have come so far in four years! I made him as a young teen graduating middle school. I am now an adult about to graduate high school. What a strange and wonderful character to grow alongside. When I first created him, he had been 16 years old because I thought that old. He is now a 27 year old freak that hits his friends with a guitar. I love you, Onyx
