Graves who forces you up on your bad days.

It's who he is: he needs that control, that sense that everything will work out. It's been especially bad after the "milk run" he can't tell you about, the one that shifted something in his head three inches to the right that you can't quite place.

So when your own mind is fighting against you, telling you anything beyond a piss break is too much to handle? It ticks at that sore spot, leaks an edge of memory and helplessness that stings like acid.

"Phil, I can't. Please."

"Don't believe in can'ts, darlin'. It's trash can, not trash cannot."

You call him a boomer. He just pulls your arm harder until you're upright.

He helps you shower and brushes your hair with the focus he gives his guns, counts every med like he's taking stock of bullets, forces you to eat breakfast like you haven't eaten in weeks.

Maybe you have. It feels like you haven't. Maybe you haven't.

You start crying halfway through getting dressed, because he won't even let you have worn out pajamas you've worn through every bad day like this. Ugly little gasps you try to keep quiet, but even that makes his skin itch. He hugs you as if he can force all the broken pieces back together, tells you it's okay, that he knows it's hard, but not enough to leave you be.

He lets you sit in the car while he grabs some groceries, smirks that devil-may-care smirk when he hangs up the dumb sign you made together ages ago. 'The A/C is on and my favorite music is playing. Please don't break the window.'

You manage to scoff, and he looks like you've given him the world.

Your skin feels like it's on fire in the sun. The eggs and toast sit in your stomach like a gross and sticky weight you want to hurl up, but you don't even have the strength to do that. Your ears are buzzing, and you're not sure if it's the cicadas or your pulse.

Still, you stay put, Graves' arm around your shoulders, letting you finally rest against him, the shade of the trees cool and the wind making the lake lap against the shore, tucked away in an old watering hole only he knows.

You hate how it makes your brain hurt a little less. Graves doesn't need you to tell him.

Doc x GN!Reader Headcanons

AN: Good lord our boy Doc doesn't get enough love so here's how I think Doc would be in a relationship.

I think Doc would be an absolute sweetheart.

He'd def try to remember everything about you despite being busy with work. Like for example, he'd memorize what your favorite tea or coffee is so he can make you a cup in the morning before work.

Man is a sap. He'd absolutely call you affectionate French nicknames. On the first date you know his ass is bringing you a bouquet of roses.

I take him as a guy who doesn't really care how he looks as long as he can get a job done. But when dating you, I could see him being more careful because he wants to look nice for you. You tell him you like him as is, but he insists.

Gustave isn't the type to play favorites at all, but he'd absolutely treat you a lot more delicately when you come back injured after a mission. He'd treat your injuries gently and then kiss the bruises on your skin URRRRGHHHH-

Realistically he knows you're not a fragile child, but please let this man do that it makes him feel a little better-

Subtly protective. He's not all about that "touch my s/o and I'll kill you" but he will be giving a heavy side eye to anyone who's even slightly rude to you.

OH BUT WITH LION IT'S A DIFFERENT STORY. Lion is a flirtatious jackass and Gustave hates it. He won't argue with him while people are around, but he will wrap an arm around you and pull you close to him.

Though Doc can be quite busy with his work, he takes any moment of free time to be with you. You'll usually see him at peak affection during the evening, night, and early morning.

Oh buddy if you're a morning person he will be cuddling you until you find it bearable to get up. He enjoys laying down on his side with you, blankets pulled up, his arms around your shoulders and yours around his waist, your face in his chest. And he's absolutely warm dlhfwkhwklfh-

I honestly think Doc would have a bit of chub to him. HEAR ME OUT. Like he's a little squishy. I know you see the vision don't lie to me.

Again, he's not flashy about showing love, but he's open to PDA. He won't openly show how deeply it affects him in public, but even just holding his hand while you two walk down the hall warms his heart. Kissing him on the cheek while he works immediately makes him forget why he's stressed in the first place. While acts of affection would make him all mushy and soft in private, you'd notice a bit of blush on his face as he tries to hold back a smile.
