Looking up from her book, Luka glanced up at the clock. The day was getting on, and she was wondering where her guest was, but it wasnât really that big of a deal. She was sure that Iroha would turn up eventually, and if she didnât? Well, maybe she just had better things to do. Luka wasnât expecting to be at the top of anyoneâs priority list.  It wouldâve been nice to get a call, but stillâŠ
Sighing, she closed the book and dropped it onto the sofa next to her. She wasnât really in the mood to read today to begin with, and the amount of noise Tako was making on her new xylophone wouldnât allow for any concentration anyway.Â
Luka had just gotten to her feet and was drifting towards the kitchen when she heard a noise from the front door. Curious, she moved closer, trying to investigate whilst still keeping her troublesome toddler in her sight. It sounded like⊠was that a meow?
After hearing the sound again, Luka opened the door and smiled softly before crouching down to greet the kitten, âHello there, Lils.â
Lils rushed into the open door once she had the chance, tangling herself around Luka happily. You wouldnât be blamed if you thought the small kitten had brought herself for the visit, but the sound of human footsteps eventually caught up.
âLils?â The pinkette finally came within sight of the door, still making sure her hair looked as good as usual. She really needed to learn to keep up with the tiny speedster, but luckily for them both they had good enough directions to arrive at the correct place.
âSorry Luka.â She laughed slightly, apologising for both her lateness and the cat now attempting to climb onto Lukaâs crouched legs.
Luka scritched Lils gently behind the ears, switching her attention between the cat and the toddler still making music in the living room. She then scooped the kitten gently into her arms and stood up to face Iroha.
âItâs alright. Come on in.â
She stepped back to let her guest into the house, smile now plastered on her face. At least she was a somewhat good actor.
