high temperature water

merc’s tank water is 10 degrees higher than it’s supposed to be. any tips on how to cool it down?

he’s never still enough for me to get a good picture (i’m grateful he’s not completely still though) but this little cherry blossom is making my life so much better. been kinda sad lately for the past few days, and merc is just doing fish things that make me laugh. he’s so cute :’)

mercutio!!

i was browsing at petsmart a few days ago, and saw this little guy dancing around in the little cups they sell bettas in. i’ve done a lot of research on them for the past few months and really wanted to be a good fish parent. i wasn’t planning on finally buying a fish that day, but he was so lively. i knew he needed some more space to move around and stretch his little fins out, so i bought a tank (a decent sized one with room for him to move), some simple care things (food, water conditioner, etc.), and some starter decor (a live plant and the betta log). i’m hoping to add onto it and really make it a happy home for him.

his bottom, dangly fins (idk what they’re actually called) are curled up from being in the tiny petsmart cup. i’m hoping that having more room helps them uncurl, but i’m not too sure how it’ll turn out. i’ve tried to look it up, but i haven’t found anything similar to his problem. if anyone knows anything, please let me know, i really want to make sure he’s happy and healthy.

him being here for the past few days has been amazing, and i look forward to seeing him constantly. i come home from work ready to see my fish lol
