People saying aerion only "bullied" egg need to pay attention to the words. He says aerion USED TO come into his bedchamber at night. He doesn't say "he once came into my bedchambers" or " came to my bedchambers one night". Used to implies multiple times. Threatening a child (even once is insane but) repeatedly about castrating him and turning him into a girl and his WIFE. He was threatening an even younger egg than now that he would mutilate and then assault him.

After all the years of fear and abuse that Egg suffered at the hands of Aerion, it becomes clearer why he never feared Dunk anytime he threatened him with a “clout on the ear” or being “chased by dogs.” Anytime Dunk scolded Egg or tried to instill a sense of obedience, Egg intuitively knew that Dunk didn’t actually mean harm and was just acting tough instead of being actually cruel, because Egg knows what real cruelty is like.

I don’t blame him for eagerly hoping that his chosen brother would kill his actual brother. I’d do the same if he threw my cat in a well.

But I fully get his commentary. Part of Mary's story she tried to connect to those white ppl for the community she cared about and she was being told to go be fully white.

But what happened. They bit her and used her to gain access to Black people. Like many white parents do. Or even white ppl trying to convince mixed ppl to understand their racist ass side and also use them as easily accessible punching bags. Or white friends being friends with mixed ppl.

(Cause we know many white communities only have the tragic mulattos to make them tragic. Black people ain't making them tragic.)
