Mentioned to my mom I'm asexual a couple months ago and today.... we got into the car and she hit me with, "So you use they/them pronouns now?"

I went, "What. no. she/her."

"How does that work? With she/her/hers and they/them?"

I stared at her. "What are you talking about?"

"Well you came out as-" and I said, "I'm asexual."

Acabo de terminar The well of Ascension de Sanderson y debo admitir que sólo en las últimas partes pude contemplar y aceptar el valor que tiene Vin como uno de los FMC más famosos de la fantasía. En el libro 1 de Mistborn aún tenía inexperiencia y creo que tanto como ella, para mi, el mejor personaje había sido Kelsier. Después de seguir en la narrativa todo este libro, no podía creer que nadie estuviera a la mente y fuerza de él, ni siquiera ella. No era enojo y tampoco extrema comparación, pero al final pude entender la importancia de su huella.

Zane fue un personaje interesante pero mis teorías de la voz que escucha aún son... ambiguas. Afortunadamente y pese haber llegado muy tarde a este universo, son raros los spoilers que logro entender entre los fanarts y tiktoks.

De lo único que estoy segura es que la subtrama de los Kandra, especificamente de Vin y OreSeur fue... vaaaaaya. ¿Inesperado? Pero perfecto. Totalmente estoy amando esta historia aunque... no lo sé. Creo que el tercero será la cereza del pastel, estoy segura.

cannot understate the value of turning a few no-thought-required chores into your idle animation. I am wandering around in aimless restless need, unsure what kind of stimulation I crave, compelled to seek it out and yet unsatisfied by all that I attempt? ok I can do that while I put the dishes away. or fold some laundry. recently I was able to add 'washing the dishes' to the list and it's been a game changer. I can settle into the physical motion and very low-level mental requirements of doing the chore, and the rest of my brain can turn over the problem of What Should I Do Next. eventually I think of something I could try doing instead, and by the time I do I've folded three shirts and half my underwear. and these are all chores I can drop almost at once (except washing dishes, I don't like to leave the soapy dishes out, but rinsing is mostly quick). so as soon as I want to not be doing this anymore, I just stop!

nasa is using a 3D world graphic for the solar eclipse thingy today where germany is still devided in east and west adjfglkafdhgadfg. buddies, it's been almost 40 years.

So I showed this to a physicist and they were like "Oh! Yes! It's a figure from Fred Espenak's very old paper where he did a bunch of eclipse graphics! I've been looking at these my entire internet life, basically, for every solar eclipse! They called him Mr. Eclipse. He just passed away recently 🥺"

Anyway apparently Mr. Eclipse made 5000 years' worth of solar eclipse graphics, which you can find the simpler versions of here

So now instead of laughing at NASA for their outdated graphics I'm emotional about Mr. Eclipse and his hard work
