NO WAY THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT SOLAR'S PERSONALITY SHIFT AFTER HE GOT BROUGHT BACK FROM THE DEAD!!! Like, whoah whoah whoah whoah, we're actually going this route, here?? Gragh, god, that's cool, that's so cool, and I, like, can't form a coherent thought today, but I'll try my best...
It's the "came back wrong" TV Trope, almost. ALMOST. Solar didn't come back wrong so much as he came back... slightly adjusted to the left. And the whole family accepted him and welcomed him back despite this. They xeroxed their loved one using dimensional code. This is not the original copy, but they wanted Solar back so bad that they were happy enough with an imperfect copy.
For humans, this is a terrifying concept. There's a sprinkle of almost... psychological horror to it. Now, the family members are happy enough with the outcome of this necromancy. They don't care that the person "came back wrong". And the person who came back doesn't even really care, either. They step into the shoes of the one who came before them, eager to take their place in the family unit and live up to their legacy.
Okay, so what's the big deal? If the family doesn't care and Solar doesn't care, why does this matter?
The fact that these are animatronics, robots, who upgrade and change bits and pieces of themselves all the time emphasizes this question question: Well, why can't they just replace the models in their family when an old one dies? They're computers! Why should we tie robots to human mortality and morality?
I mean, it's ALMOST a Ship of Theseus debate, right? When does that robot become not the same robot, anymore? Except. They don't even use the same build or materials. Solar of the now is not the Solar of before, that is NOT the same ship, because while it is serving the same purpose as the old ship, it has a completely different build and structure and personality to it.
Well, when you think about it, Solar's acceptance of his role and place is the complete opposite of Nexus. V2 Solar was able to keep living up to V1 Solar's legacy well enough that he was able to integrate back into the family without issue. Nexus, however, couldn't handle that kind of pressure and snapped. So Nexus rejected everything about Moon: his face, his name, his personality, his brotherhood with Sun--everything.
The difference here, though, is that Solar had all of his memories to direct him.
I once again bring up the idea that a robot's "life force" is tied to their memories.
What if the robot's afterlife isn't the afterlife. What if Uno Hell is not Hell.
What if it's a Cloud? Storage?
We KNOW there's an "afterlife" for these robots when they die, or at least an in-between place like limbo: Uno Hell. Hell, we just saw it with Ruin! Their "souls" or "Ai" or consciousness or SOMETHING--IT GOES somewhere after they die.
This is how we KNOW Nexus was a different person from Moon and that the universe itself affirms it as true, is BECAUSE NEXUS IS IN UNO HELL as a separate entity from Moon. Why? Because Nexus didn't have Moon's memories!!
Who else isn't in hell? Well, the red Bloodmoon twins for starters! Only the blue Bloodmoon exists in Uno Hell!! And why do I think that is? Because the blue Bloodmoon had all of the red Bloodmoon's memories!
Eclipse's older versions are ALSO not in Uno Hell!!! Why?? Well, Ruin and Eclipse have actually had this conversation before on whether he is or isn't the same V1, V2, V3 Eclipse. Ruin argues that he is, because he has allllll of the other Eclipse's memories, and that all he had to do was plug in the gaps in his code. So there are not V1, V2, and V3 Eclipses in Uno Hell because Eclipse has accumulated all of their memories AKA their life forces and they're HIM because he has their memories!!
And who else is not in Uno Hell? V1 Solar!! And it's of my belief that he isn't there in Uno Hell because if a robot's life force = their memory, then when V2 Solar came to life and received his memories, it plucked V1 Solar's soul from the pits of Uno Hell and those memories/that life force became Solar V2.
This is also why when Bloodmoon killed Terra, Terra still became Terra is because she had all her memories. "BUT WAIT A SECOND" I CAN HEAR YOU SAYING!!! WHY IS THERE A V1 TERRA IN UNO HELL???
GOOD QUESTION!!! My answer??? Terra had MEMORY ISSUES WITH FORGOR!!! And those gaps in memories, those parts of her SOUL, became the V1 Terra that's still down in Uno Hell!!!!!!
This is why Cosmo is still Cosmo and doesn't have an a V1 Cosmo in Uno Hell despite having died to Eclipse and been fundamentally changed on the molecular level into an Astral, is because alllll of his memory/life forces were intact!!!
And now MOON'S memory is fading. Which means his life force is fading.
And now they're talking about doing the same thing with Moon that they did with Solar in order to try to preserve him, swapping out his dimensional code with another Moon, possibly trading parts of his personality to at least preserve his history and memory and, ergo, his life force/soul.
THAT'S RIGHT. THAT'S RIGHT, I'M SAYING CHARACTERS CAN BE BROUGHT BACK FROM THE DEAD USING THEIR MEMORIES THEMSELVES AND THAT RUIN WAS AN ACCIDENTAL NECROMANCER!!! Or maybe a purposeful one. IDK why he wouldn't just bring back his OG Monty if he was aware of any of this I, uhhh, IDK!!!!!
I DON'T KNOW WHAT ANY OF THIS MEANS ACTUALLY!! But it's just so WILD and FUCKED and GOOD and I LIKE IT!!
Memories = Lifeforces/the souls of the machines and Uno Hell is a sort of limbo storage space/Cloud where all of those memories are stored until they're transferred into a new machine/animatronic model/vessel!!!!!!
