I read that on international Pokémon day (27/02) they had released Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green for the Nintendo Switch and I, in my late to the news fashion, decided to create a piece of the OG generation starters.

I grew up playing the original generation of Pokémon games. I didn’t start with Red and Blue (Green) like most, but actually with Pokémon Yellow. As a certified “genwunner”, my usual first choice would be Pikachu in this situation. However, out of the original three, Bulbasaur will always be my go to choice.

I had based my stylized versions of the OGs loosely on a salamander for Charmander, a sea turtle for Squirtle and a Dicynodontia (I had to look this one up) for Bulbasaur.

Nostalgia will always be a driving force of many emotions for individuals as they go through life. For me, Pokémon will always be in my heart as a place of joy and whimsy of the days of a little me 💛

Doodles and Gesture Study [July 8, 2025]

Every time before a drawing session, I tend to make a doodle page for warming up my hand to draw for the day.

Currently I have been learning how to draw with a study roadmap I had found on Reddit [here].

I am not doing it super exactly as planned, given how I time things and vibe with ideas may not flow with it perfectly, but so far it has been a good idea.

I am on day two of studying and learning the first term. I have been mostly just doing figure drawing and perspective if I have the energy when I get tired of doing gestures for the day🙈. I plan to create a video of how I am practicing gesture at this time, hopefully soon c:
