#Xena: Warrior Princess is the most elaborate and epic love story ever told#all mine#∞#season one Xena never seemed as emotional as the Xena of the other seasons and this scene is almost like the transition#Gabrielle dies in her arms and she fucking l o s e s it beyond anything I ever expected to see (but oh so hoped for) the first time I saw it#any other person in any other scenario and Xena wouldn’t fight so hard and her desperation shows how much Gabrielle means to her#she is ESSENTIAL and in this episode filled with war and death and saving lives but also accepting death Xena ignores all reason for her#Gabrielle is so young and idealistic and the world needs people like her and so does she so how could Xena possibly let her go#the mere SUGGESTION of Gabrielle being ‘in a much better place’ which is meant to comfort her instead makes her furious#because how could any place - even the Elysian fucking Fields - be a better place if she and Gabrielle aren’t together#go on without me I’ve fallen into the dreaded tags spiral

You’d think three years after coming out that I’d be living my best life, meeting people, and going on dates… but I’m still lonely, stuck in place, trying to find a soul that recognizes mine.
